The Drs: Shockingly Gross Viral Video
The Doctors shared that gross skin videos are some of the most viral videos out there and they had a new one to share. Dermatologist Dr Sonia Batra got to explain the “gnarly” video becoming increasingly popular across the internet. Dr Batra explained that it as actually a video of an infected, inflamed cyst, and the white that was injected was a numbing agent, because the cysts are typically incredibly painful. A scalpel was used to make an opening and then the pus from the infection was squeezed out.
Dr Batra said it likely started as a cyst and ruptured under the skin, becoming infected. She said it probably came from an infected hair follicle. Dr Travis Stork said these are definitely ones you don’t want to treat by yourself.
The Drs: Trivia Game While Giving Birth?
The Doctors then shared that oftentimes, giving birth is one of the most memorable times of a parent’s life, but for some new parents, they will forever remember it as a time that they took part in a game show called Labor Games. The show will launch the summer of 2015 on TLC and it’s a show where the parents can win prizes while they wait for the arrival of their children.
Dr Ashton said she would have rocked it if it was her second time around. The Drs: Temple Grandin Autism Benefit
The Doctors then shared that the worlds of medicine and entertainment will come together for the Temple Grandin and Friends musical celebration. Dr Grandin is an autism activist who had “forever changed the face” of autism and was even portrayed by Claire Danes in the movie Temple Grandin.
The Drs: ‘Poltergeist’ Returns
The Doctors shared that a reboot of the classic movie Poltergeist will be in theaters Friday, May 22. Throughout the ’80s, viewers enjoyed a series of Poltergeist films that revolved around a family whose daughter is sucked into a TV set brimming with supernatural spirits. Heather O’Rourke, the actress who starred in the original movies, died just shortly after filming the last movie, while undergoing surgery. She went into full cardiopulmonary arrest brought on by septic shock.

The Doctor’s Prescription of the Day came from Kerry Washington: coconut water!
