The Drs TV Show: Does Sitting Cause Breast & Colon Cancer?
Lack of physical activity may cause 100,000 cases of breast cancer and colon cancer each year, a new study finds. That’s bad news for all of us who sit down on the job. The Doctors took this opportunity to stand up as they discussed this news.
Dr. Jim Sears said almost 50,000 cases of colon cancer each year are caused by inactivity. Dr. Lisa Masterson said being overweight can be a contributing factor, but cautioned that this is just a correlation at this point.
Dr. Andrew Ordon said we sit more today than ever before in history. Low activity jobs have been on the rise since the 1950s, and high activity jobs have declined in popularity. Dr. Ordon said we now sit for an average of 15.5 hours each day.
Dr. Travis Stork said that all of this sitting around is consistent with an overall increase in sedentary behavior. He recommended getting up for 10 to 15 minutes every hour. Sitting is not good for your spine or your stomach. You can also use a balance ball instead of a chair at your desk.
The Doctors: Beardruff
Beard Dandruff, or Beardruff, is similar to Dandruff. It’s flaky skin that’s aggravated by washing your beard with soap and hot water. Dr. Travis Stork said to wash your beard with Dandruff or Beard Shampoo, using lukewarm or cool water instead of hot water. Keeping it clean can lower your risk of Beardruff.

Dr. Lisa Masterson said she likes the look of beards, but not the feel. Dr. Jim Sears said he grew a beard once for a production of Fiddler On The Roof. Dr. Travis Stork said he enjoyed growing his beard out last summer.
