Drs: Severe Smoker’s Cough & Phlegm + Mama’s Family Celeb News

The Doctors: 30-Year-Old Cyst Drained

The Doctors kicked off their September 30 show with viral videos and guest co-host dermatologist Dr Sonia Batra. Instead of easing into the worst ones, they dove straight into their video collection with one of a 30-year-old cyst being drained. Dr Batra explained that it likely wasn’t actually done at a dermatologist’s office because they would have numbed the area first, but the long line of oozing white “gunk” for a lack of a better word, was nonetheless shocking. She explained that it was actually impacted keratin that has been there for 30 years, which means it likely smells incredibly rotten as well.

Dr Batra also wanted everyone to know that if you have a bump on your skin, you shouldn’t try to take care of it yourself. It might not be a cyst. It could be a tumor and even if it is a cyst, just squeezing the keratin out will only temporarily take care of the problem.

The Doctors: Gross Smoker’s Cough

Drs: Severe Smoker's Cough & Phlegm + Mama's Family Celeb News

One viral video showed just how gross and extreme a smoker’s cough can be, providing yet another reason to give up the habit. (vysxy69 / Flickr)

The Doctors then shared another disgusting video of what may be the grossest smokers cough of all time. The man in the video was smoking a cigarette and began coughing repeatedly until he literally coughed up a pile of phlegm. Dr Travis Stork explained that there are tiny hairs that help to remove phlegm and mucus from the airway but when you smoke, they’re compromised and that mucus can build up. Yet another reason to stop smoking!

A man loses about 13.2 years of life on average, while a female loses 14.5 years on average, just from smoking.

The Doctors: Mama’s Family Star + Celebrity Health News

Switching gears again, The Doctors were thrilled to welcome Mama from Mama’s Family back to the show. She jokingly brought a rose for Dr Travis, asking if he would accept her rose. In return, Dr Travis pulled out some mugs of beer for them to enjoy while they continued talking about hot headlines. When joking about Justin Bieber, Mama stated “if Madonna and Charlie Sheen had a kid, this would be it!”

Speaking of celebrities, they then discussed Kim Kardashian and rumors that she received injections to make her backside bigger. The star claimed the only butt injections she gets are for her psoriasis. Mama joked “that thing is so big and so round, Neil Armstrong is trying to walk on it!”

Dr Batra did make a point to say that she was glad Kim Kardashian was a least being open about the skin condition. She further explained that psoriasis is an immune response that causes red, itchy plaques. Kim reportedly uses cortisone injections and cortisone cream to help keep her skin clear.

As for Taylor Swift, there are now rumors that the star recently enhanced her breasts after she made $170 million just last year! Dr Andrew Ordon, speaking professionally, acknowledged that he agreed she did have some sort of enhancement.

The Doctors: Vicki Lawrence Chronic Hives

Later in the show, Vicki Lawrence, the actress who plays Mama, returned to the show to share an update on her chronic idiopathic urticaria, or CIU. Basically, she gets hives that last for a long time and doctors can’t figure out why. The good news is that she saw an allergist who treated her condition and it’s been a few years since she’s had them. Together with The Doctors, Vicki then had to take a look at several pictures to determine whether they were looking at, proving just how good she was at recognizing the rash. The important thing to remember is that if you notice something unusual on your skin, see your doctor as soon as you can.
