The Doctors: Dr Phil & Type 2 Diabetes
The audience gave a very warm welcome to special guest Dr Phil. Dr Phil has been very open about his type 2 diabetes, ever since he was diagnosed 25 years ago. He explained that he was likely diabetic before that, but like too many people still, he didn’t know it. Approximately 30 million people have diabetes in the United States, but there are still a lot of misconceptions out there. They wanted to take the time to tackle some popular diabetes myths.
First, it’s not true that you can’t live an active lifestyle if you have diabetes. Also, it’s entirely possible for thin people to get diabetes. The truth is that approximately a third of people who have type 2 diabetes don’t even know it. They either show no symptoms or don’t recognize the symptoms.
Dr Phil shared that he was incredibly active, but all of the sudden he hit a wall and began experiencing energy deficits. That’s when he went to see his doctor. He was relieved when he got the diagnosis, because he knew type 2 diabetes was manageable. Dr Phil is partnering with AstraZeneca because they are focused on the psychological aspects of the disease.

The website onitmovement.com provides six steps people can take. One important step is to move forward, and then you have to get educated. Third, you have to build a team that includes your doctor. Fourth, you have to replace bad habits, particularly when it comes to your diet and eating habits. You need to make a plan and stick with it, and the website Dr Phil helped create can help you do just that.
The Doctors: Five Years Younger For $5 Or Less
Next, The Doctors welcomed plastic surgeon Dr Anthony Youn, author of “The Age Fix.” Dr Youn shared five beauty fixes, under $5, that can help you look five years younger! Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment to reduce wrinkles, and you can actually get similar results at home. Botox works to cause the muscles of the forehead not to flex, and you can use tape on your forehead to learn how to control those muscles. The tape will remind you to avoid making those wrinkles, teaching your body over time.
The Doctors: Surgery Free Brow Lift & Younger-Looking Eyes
Next, if you think you need a brow lift, try using tweezers first. Remove the hairs on the under-surface of the eyebrow to effectively lengthen the distance between your eye and your brow, making it look at if you got a lift. Then you can fill in your eyebrow with a pencil. Third, brew some green tea and then put peeled and sliced potatoes in the green tea for at least a half hour. Lay those potato slices over the eye, to temporarily tighten the skin under the eyelid. Because of the starches in the potatoes, this technique will work better than cucumbers.
Dr Youn then explained that as women get older, their earlobes stretch because the lobe doesn’t have cartilage to support it. Heavy earrings can make the problem even worse. The good news is that there are patches that cost just $.10 each, that can be placed on the back of your ear lobe to allow for more support. Finally, for a more contoured jaw line without surgery, use makeup powder 1-2 shades darker than your skin and blend using a blender brush from your chin all the way to your ear.
