The Chew: Raiders Of the Lost Fridge
Clinton Kelly was the host of a competition called Raiders of the Lost Fridge, where two audience members competed against each other for the chance to cook alongside Michael Symon. Clinton Kelly and the contestants were all dressed like Indiana Jones and Clinton snapped his whip every once in a while.

Contestants were asked questions about food and the answers were in a refrigerator they had to run to. Contestants were supposed to take the correct food out of the fridge and run back with the food. All of the food the contestants grabbed were used for Michael’s meal. A woman named Bobbie was the winner of Raiders of the Lost Fridge.
She cooked alongside Michael and seemed to be having a great time. She told Michael she had two children in their 20’s who didn’t like the food she cooked when she was young, but were grateful for a good meal now. Michael Symon said she should try cooking this meal for them.
The Chew: Michael Symon’s Pan-Seared Strip Steak
Michael Symon Strip Steak Ingredients:
- 2 8-ounce Strip Steaks
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Olive Oil
- 1/4 pound Bacon (sliced 1/2-inch thick)
- 1 8-ounce container of Button Mushrooms (sliced 1/4-inch thick)
- 1/2 Onion (sliced thinly)
- 2 Garlic cloves (finely minced)
- 1 12-ounce can of Beer
- 1/4 cup Sour Cream
- 1/4 cup Parsley (leaves picked)
The Chew’s Pan-Seared Strip Steak Directions:
- Start by cooking the strip steaks in olive oil over medium high heat. Leave them to cook for 3 to 4 minutes, until golden brown on one side. Then flip them and repeat. You will have the perfect medium rare steak by this method.
- Remove steaks from heat, let rest for about 10 minutes.
- In a pan, fry the bacon in olive oil.
- When it starts to crisp, add the onion and garlic.
- After about one minute, add the beer and the mushrooms. Let simmer.
- Remove from heat, add sour cream. Put back on heat, add parsley and stir.
- Cut steak into strips.
- Pour bacon mixture on top.
- Enjoy!
