If you’re a fan of marshmallow cereal treats, you’ll certainly love these! While Carla added peanuts, chocolate, and candy corn to her treats, you can do a little experimenting on your own and add whatever candy floats your boat!

The Chew: Salty & Sweet Candy Corn Treats Recipe Ingredients

Carla Hall’s Salty and Sweet Candy Corn Treats are the perfect way to use up leftover Halloween candy in a fun and tasty new way! (lisazins / Flickr)
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/2 C candy corn
- 1/2 C pretzels – broken into 1/2-inch pieces
- flaky sea salt – to garnish
- 12 chewy caramels
- 5 C mini marshmallows
- 1 1/2 C crispy cereal
- 1/2 C salted roasted peanuts
- 1/2 C bittersweet chocolate – melted
- cooking spray
The Chew: Salty & Sweet Candy Corn Treats Recipe Directions
- Line one baking sheet with wax paper then place the caramels two inches apart on the paper
- Place a large pot over medium heat and add butter
- Let the butter melt, then add the marshmallows and salt
- Stir until the marshmallows melt and become smooth
- Remove from the heat and add the candy corn, cereal, peanuts, and pretzels, then stir quickly to coat entirely
- Grease your hands and large spoons with cooking spray, then scoop 1/4 C of the cereal marshmallow mixture on top of the caramels, and use your hands to shape them into mounds (let the caramel act as a “surprise” inside)
- Flatten the mounds a little then repeat and let the cereal treats set
- Once set, drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with flaky sea salt
