The Chew April 1 2013 Recap
On April 1 2013, The Chew cooked up some simple, hearty meals that will be easy to clean up. Mario Batali cooked his simple minestrone soup with tortellini. Michael Symon cooked, what else, meat. He wants home cooking to get creative and had ideas for one pot beef stews. Clinton Kelly tied everything together with food game about calories.

On April 1, The Chew had one pot wonders and a calorie quiz from Clinton Kelly. If you’ve ever wanted to make a minestrone tortellini, this one has an easy clean up!
The Chew One Pot Wonders: Michael Symon Beef Stew Recipe Ingredients
Michael Symon whipped up a simple beef stew. The King of Meat said that he loves making stew on the weekends. His recipe is a variation of the one that he made growing up. It’s a slow cooking recipe and it’s important to let the meat brown well. The slow cooking seals in the flavor. The best part: you only use one pot. Clean up is a snap with this lazy weekend dish.

The Chew: Mario Batali Minestrone Tortellini Recipe with Pie Crust
Another one-pot wonder, Mario Batali gave us minestrone tortellini soup. The soup is complete with a flaky pie crust. In comparing the two recipes, this one looks much more involved but they have to tie in flavor. If you like kale, you might prefer Mario’s minestrone, which is topped with this trendy veggie.
Also, we got a calorie quiz from Clinton Kelly. It’s a little shocking to see what we eat. Steak fajitas have 614 calories. I would think all of the veggies would make it a healthy choice. The lowest calorie dish was ham and asparagus frittata, 240. Their beef chili was around the middle ground with 395.
