The Chew April 5 2013 Recap
The Chew went Italian on April 5 2013. Clinton Kelly was out so they brought in one of the best Italian chefs they could find, the lovable Fabio Viviani. They even invited Richard Blais on the show as well so Viviani and Blais could compete against each other to see who could make the best Italian recipe on a budget. It was Extra Value Friday, right?
The Chew: Chef Fabio Viviani & People Would Give Up Facebook For Pizza
Clinton Kelly was off April 5 2013, so The Chew brought on Top Chef alum Fabio Viviani to fill in for him. It turned out he was chosen for a reason. This Extra Value Friday was an all-Italian edition.
Before they got into the kitchen, the co-hosts talked about a new study that found most Americans would rather give up Facebook and Twitter for a year instead of giving up pizza. Why did they need a study for that? No one would rather have social media over pizza.
The Chew: Fabio Viviani & Mario Batali’s Spaghetti Aglio e Olio Recipe
Mario Batali obviously had a great recipe to make for this all-Italian episode. He cooked up a spaghetti e olio recipe while Fabio Viviani gave him a hand with some of the preparation. Don’t be intimidated by the Italian name of the recipe. Mario Batali said this dish is so easy, even his dog could make it.
The Chew: Daphne Oz’s Banana Almond Gelato Recipe With Frangelico
Daphen Oz was the next co-host in the kitchen. She whipped up an easy banana almond gelato for everyone to try. You might think gelato sounds difficult to make as well, but this recipe only has three ingredients, and all you need is a blender.
The Chew: Richard Blais Fabio Viviani Bromance, Meatballs & Impastas
Fabio Viviani and fellow Top Chef alum Richard Blais went head to head in a cooking competition on The Chew. It was all in good fun though. The two jokingly talked about their bromance before facing off. Click the link below to get Viviani’s recipe for lazy meatballs and Blais’ recipe for impasta carbonara and decide for yourself who you think had the better dish.
