The Chew: Say No to Yoga Pants
Moms are not known for getting time to themselves, so fashion tends not to be at the top of their “to-do lists.” One trap that moms fall into is wearing a mom uniform. Day after day it’s the same thing. For one such mother, Heather (a teacher, business owner, and single mother of three children), the uniform was yoga pants and hoodies. It’s pretty common for moms to open their closets and see row after row of the same old thing. That’s why it’s important to break out of the old routine every once in a while. For example, just wearing shorter pants, slightly dressier shoes, a blouse and a jacket can completely turn around a mom’s look.
The Chew: Neutral Color Fashion Brightens Up Your Day
Another problem moms run into at times is falling way too in love with black. Black is easy and it’s supposed to be slimming. The problem is that baggy black isn’t slimming at all. And if you wear black every day it is bound to feel dreary. Don’t get stuck in a rut. This was a problem for Grace Ann, a first grade teacher and mother of two, but she spruced things up by just adding a few splashes of color here and there. Try to throw in some neutral colors with your everyday. It’s just as easy as black because all neutral colors go with all neutral colors, but with brightening you up.
The Chew: Mom Bra Fitting
The third problem moms face is just flat out giving up. Carrie, a postal worker and mother, had given up, wearing sweats and a baseball cap everyday. Don’t give up. One thing moms can do to stop from giving up is to get a professional bra fitting. Too often moms are just wearing the wrong bra. Wearing the right bra will make you feel younger, while allowing your clothes to fit you better, and giving you more options on how to explore your fashion.
