Rachael Ray September 6 2013
It’s time to head back to school on Friday’s episode of Rachael Ray, September 6 2013. She traveled with First Lady Michelle Obama on a field trip to a Mississippi school where the kids are getting into the spirit of the Let’s Move campaign. Plus, Rachael pitted two of her favorite chefs with lunch ladies from the school cafeteria in a cook-off to be judged by the students. Going back to class never looked like so much fun!
Rachael Ray: First Lady Field Trip
First Lady Michelle Obama took Rachael Ray with her on a field trip to Mississippi. Don’t you miss field trips? They were such a fun part of the school year, because you knew you were going to shake up the routine and have some fun out in the real world.
For this field trip, Mrs. Obama and Rachael Ray headed down south to a Mississippi school full of energetic students. This school’s students improved their fitness by 13% by focusing on exercise and healthy eating. It seems to me like a lot of things are falling by the wayside in classrooms today, and fitness is one of them.
When I was a student growing up in Illinois through elementary and middle school, we had mandatory physical education every day. It seems like applying this policy nationwide would improve concerns about childhood obesity. Watch what happened when Rachael and Mrs. Obama met the kids. Tune in September 6!
Rachael Ray: Sunny Anderson Vs Ryan Scott
Two of Rachael’s favorite kitchen buddies, Ryan Scott and Sunny Anderson, teamed up with local lunch ladies to have a cook-off on the show. Do you think the kids chose Sunny’s lunch option or decided to vote for what Ryan made? Take a guess and then watch the results on Friday’s episode.
To keep things educational, the First Lady shared experiences from her own childhood eating habits, as well as a presidential pop quiz. All that, plus Rach did a cartwheel! See it for yourself on Rachael Ray September 6.
