Rachael Ray: Garage Cleaning Tips
A garage is really nothing more than an adult version of a teenager’s closet. Replace old toys with gym equipment that was purchased with the best of intentions. Swap out dirty socks for dirty rags you wiped the car off with and never threw away.
When we finally get motivated to clean some of this clutter out, though, how do we go about doing it? Here are a few tips before tomorrow’s show.
Dispose of Junk In An Orderly Fashion
The first thing to do when cleaning your garage is to literally just yank everything out of it and organize it in piles by category, such as sports equipment, yard tools, dad’s tools, so on and so forth.
Then, simply pick all the undesirables out of each pile and viola! Before disposing of these things, though, make sure you have checked with city sanitation that you can toss it all out.
Organize The Garage
This may seem obvious, but if you place everything back into your garage in the same categorized fashion in which you yanked it out, you will have a much easier time in the future tracking everything that goes into and out of your garage.
These tips come from the DIY Network.
