Oprah’s Holiday Gift Guide 2012
Oprah surprised military spouses with a special edition of her Favorite Thing 2012, with gifts such as the Jetson Electric Bike and Bose Videowave, but there were still many more surprises yet to come. More gift ideas included Jessica Simpson shoes and the Rowallan of Scotland Jewelry Trunk.
First, Oprah talked about the joy of giving. She basically explained the meaning of the saying “it’s the thought that counts,” and encouraged everyone to put a little thought into what they give others this holiday season.
Oprah: Jessica Simpson Collection Shoes
Five more gifts were passed out among the women. There were five pairs of shoes from the Jessica Simpson Collection, worth $79 to $139. The styles were:
- Jessica Simpson Shoes
- Jessica Simpson Boots
- Jessica Simpson Flats
- Jessica Simpson Leopard Print
- Jessica Simpson Red Pump
Oprah said that all the shoe styles were available at Macy’s.

But of course that is not all. The next gifts included the $495 Movado Bold Watch, which Oprah picked out earlier at Macy’s.
Oprah’s Holiday Gift Guide: Rowallan of Scotland Leather Jewelry Trunk Review
If you need somewhere to store all your nice jewelry, you should check out the Rowallan of Scotland Leather Jewelry Trunk, which goes for approximately $525. Oprah said this is the perfect place to store everything in your collection.
Oprah: p.jamas Back Home Pajama Set Review
Lori, who was honored as Military Spouse of the Year 2010, has three kids. She was the next to open a present, and Oprah had something special in mind for this busy woman.
It was the p.jamas Back Home Pajama Set, worth $160. Lori’s set was in purple, but there are different colors to choose from.
Oprah’s Favorite Things: Macy’s Hotel Collection Bedding Review
Can you believe that the Macy’s Hotel Collection Bedding Oprah gave away was worth $1500? Those have to be the most comfortable sheets in the world, at that price. She chose the neutral color to go in any bedroom.
Then of course was the surprise that everyone received the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud Supreme Mattress, worth $2699. I guess it’s not a bad price to pay, considering that we spend up to one third of our lives on a mattress.
Oprah’s Favorite Things: Military Spouses
All the gifts made one of the women, Kristy, very emotional. She said that her husband has needed a new mattress. But the family hasn’t been able to afford it, or even exchange Christmas gifts, because her husband has required so many surgeries in recent years.
Kristy said she was already planning to share these gifts with her children, and she hoped her husband would rest easy on their new bed.
