Kelly & Michael: October 17 2014
Kelly Ripa had a great end to the week on October 17 2014. Michael Strahan had been out for the second half of the week and Josh Groban and Mark Consuelos filled in as Kelly’s co-hosts. World News Tonight anchor David Muir was the last co-host to fill in for Michael this week, and I think he did a great job. They interviewed Bridget Moynahan about her show Blue Bloods and Jason Schwartman about his new movie Listen Up Philip. Plus, they learned to flip pizzas with Tony Gemignani. It was a really fun day.
Kelly & Michael: David Muir + Ebola
David Muir had actually just come back from Atlanta where he interviewed top scientists at the CDC about Ebola. Though they don’t usually talk about breaking news on the show, Muir wanted to put people’s minds at ease about Ebola and the nurse who had gotten on a plane.
Kelly & Michael: The Curious Case of the Dog in the NIghttime, Brad Pitt, Funerals, Texting + Wine Baths
Kelly then talked about the play The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime, while Muir talked about his interview with Brad Pitt. They then talked about a new funeral home that does drive-thru funerals and a dead grandmother that started texting her granddaughter.
Kelly & Michael: Bridget Moynahan
Bridget Moynahan came by to talk to Kelly & David about her new movie John Wick and her show Blood Bloods. She loves playing such different roles. She also talked about how she became a model at 16 because her friend wanted to be a model and talked about her son for a bit.
Kelly & Michael: Jason Schwartzman
Jason Schwartzman came by to talk to Kelly & David about his new movie Listen Up Philip and the seven-hour “date” he had with the director when he tried to get the part. He also talked about how everyone thinks he’s from New York even if he isn’t and how much he loves having daughters.
Kelly & Michael: Tony Gemignani
Finally, Tony Gemignani came by to teach Kelly & David how to flip pizzas, and it was amazing. He also showed off his incredible pizza acrobatics skills. I’d never seen anyone do pizza tricks like that before and I was so impressed. Finally he shared some pizzas from his book The Pizza Bible.
