Kelly & Miachel Showed Green Cars
Kelly & Michael continued with Live’s New York Auto Show Week. They did a day dedicated to Green Cars. The Green Cars were environmentally friendly which is great. They were “futuristic, fun and stylish” according to Kelly.

Kelly and Michael continued auto week with Alan Taylor with green cars. They even showed an environmentally friendly sports car and a car that drives like a motorcycle. (Michael Shake / Shutterstock.com)
Alan Taylor came out to show the green cars. He is a car expert and hosts The Drive with Alan Taylor. He was really excited to show the green cars. He said it’s been 114 years since the New York Auto Show started showcasing cars.
Kelly & Michael Green Cars: BMW I8 Review
The first car Taylor showed was the BMW I8. The BMW I8 is a plug-in hybrid with an onboard generator. It’s electric and the it’s the world’s first hybrid sports car. It gets 80 miles to the gallon. Unfortunately it’s also $135,000.
Kelly and Michael reassured everyone that they could just use their tax refund on it, though. This was definitely Kelly & Michael’s favorite car. They kept going back to it throughout the segment. And they loved how pretty it was. They both really wanted one. It does look great.
Kelly and Michael: Chevrolet Cruise Diesel Review
The next car Allen Taylor showed was the Chevrolet Cruise Diesel. The Chevrolet Cruise Diesel gets over 50 miles to the gallon. Kelly & Michael were surprised it was a diesel car. They thought diesel was over.
But diesel cars can be surprisingly environmentally friendly. Alan surprised them when he said that the green car of the year was Audi’s A5 Diesel. The Chevrolet Cruise Diesel is $25,000. It starts off at 18,000 on gasoline, though. It’s a tax credit, Kelly & Michael repeated. So it pays for itself.
Kelly & Michael Green Cars: Toyota iRoad Review
The last green car was by far the coolest car Taylor showed. It was the Toyota iRoad. And it was a cross between a car, Segway, and motorcycle. It goes almost 30 miles an hour, which isn’t very fast. But, when you turn, the car will lean like a motorcycle and will lift a wheel up. Kelly got in and said that she can at least parallel park in it. The Toyota iRoad only allows for one or two passengers. They said that it’s a good city car. It may not be practical for everyone, but it’s cool.
