Kelly & Michael: Auto Show Week Anniversary Cars
This was a special day for Live’s New York Auto Show Week. “It’s time to celebrate,” the said. Alan Taylor showed Kelly & Michael three very iconic cars celebrating their 25, 50, and 100 year anniversaries. That’s not the only big anniversary they had to celebrate, though. Taylor revealed it’s his 15th year on the show.
Kelly & Michael: Mazda Miata 25th Anniversary
The first car Alan showed was the Mazda Miata. It’s the 25th anniversary for the Miata. “It’s so red,” he said.
It has a retractable hard top, which means it just folds in, which is good for the weather. He said it’s a fun to drive car. It’s a 4-cylinder. He also said there’s more grassroots racing in a Miata. There are only 100 of theses cars. Kelly said it has her name written all over it. She also wants it to be a nail color. Taylor said the color’s name is actually “so red.”
Kelly & Michael: Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary
The next car Taylor showed is celebrating is 50th anniversary. It was the Ford Mustang.
The first Mustang to go on the Empire State Building was in 1964. They cut it in six pieces and took it up the elevator. You can get it in other options besides what Taylor showed.
The first on the Empire State Building was yellow, like the car he showed, but it may have been a different yellow. The Mustang is completely redesigned and modernized. It has independent rear suspension. There are only 1,965 of them. They start at $24,000 but can go up to $60,000-70,000.
Kelly & Michael: Dodge Challenger Review
The last car was both an anniversary car and a world debut. It was the new Dodge Challenger. Taylor said that the Dodge brothers were very flamboyant, like Michael’s family. It has a shaker hood, which shakes when the engine shakes.
“He’s speaking another language,” Kelly said. Taylor said Dodge was looking at iconic cares and that 1971 was so iconic for them. They took from that car and put it in this new car. But it also has numerous safety measures. It has lane departure warnings and others. He said it’s a muscle car with a lot of safety. It gets 25 miles to the gallon.
