On August 16 2013, Michael Strahan will be co-hosting with Whitney Cummings, comedian and creator of 2 Broke Girls and Whitney. They’ll be talking to Cuba Gooding Jr. from Lee Daniels’ The Butler.
Whitney Cummings: 2 Broke Girls Success & Love You, Mean It Cancelled
The career of Whitney Cummings has been pretty up and down. She’s had amazing success with 2 Broke Girls on CBS, but mediocre ratings on her NBC series based on her life, Whitney. However, both Whitney and her talk show Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings were cancelled.
Seeing how people aren’t too thrilled with Cummings in front of the camera, it may be that she has more success with a writing, behind the camera career. We’ll see if she has improved her co-hosting on Kelly and Michael August 16.
Cuba Gooding Jr: Lee Daniels’ The Butler
Lee Daniels’ The Butler is coming at a good time for Cuba Gooding Jr. He’s had a lot of success as part of the Broadway production of The Trip to Bountiful, but many of his movies from 2008 to 2013 were direct-to-DVD, meaning they were largely overlooked.
The Butler has been getting a lot of buzz. It based on the story of Eugene Allen, an African-American butler in the White House that worked for eight presidents. Starring Oprah Winfrey, Forest Whitaker, and Lenny Kravitz, the stars of the film are dedicated to this project that speaks on Civil Rights. Also in the film, John Cusack, Jane Fonda, Alan Rickman, Liev Schreiber, Robin Williams, and James Marsden.
Cuba Gooding Jr. plays Carter Wilson, a butler in the White House alongside Lenny Kravitz and Forest Whitaker. The film has been getting positive feedback and could be a strong Academy Award contender. Cuba Gooding Jr. will share his experiences in the film on Live! with Kelly & Michael August 16.
