On Monday July 22 2013, Live! with Kelly & Michael is starting Broadway week. All week long, Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan will be going behind the scenes with the biggest Broadway musicals. First up is Pippin! Kelly is going behind the scenes to see what puts a show together. Also, Daniel Sunjata talks about his role on the new hit crime drama, Graceland. Plus, Octavia Spencer talks about her dramatic new film, Fruitvale Station. 

Octavia Spencer: Fruitvale Station

Academy award-winner Octavia Spencer has grace and poise, not to mention a comedic side that will have you rolling on the floor. She will forever be the sassy maid that fed Bryce Dallas Howard her own crap in a pie.

Taking on a more serious role, Spencer can be seen in Fruitvale Station, playing the mother of a young black man killed at a Bay Area subway station. The film is directed by Forest Whitaker and based on a true story. You can see Fruitvale Station in select theaters now.

Daniel Sunjata: Graceland

A few weeks ago, Kelly and Michael spoke with Aaron Tveit about his new crime drama Graceland. On July 22, Tveit’s co-star Daniel Sunjata is talking about the series, based on real events. Sunjata and Tveit play undercover cops in a beachfront property searching for drug rings. Sunjata plays Paul Briggs, a legendary FBI agent, and Tveit is his rookie making life difficult.

Kelly Ripa Goes Backstage at Pippin

Pippin is back on Broadway for the first time since its debut 40 years ago. The musical won the Tony Award for Best Musical Revival earlier this summer. On July 22, Kelly Ripa is looking behind the scenes at the story of a young prince on an intense journey looking for his purpose in life.
