Kelly & Michael: Kelly Driving Lessons
Kelly and Michael started their show by sharing that they were starting their 27th year of syndication, and it was Kelly’s 14th year. Crazy! Michael said the September 2 show was the start of his third year doing the show.
Michael then asked Kelly how her vacation was. She said it was “nice, restful, and relaxing.” She said for the most part, she could have done without the driving lessons from Michael. Michael said she saw the Instagram pictures from the experience and that Kelly looked terrified. She said, “the only language you can come up with is foul language.” She did say that the more he drove, the better he got.

Kelly also went on to say that her kids had a lot of homework over the summer, because schools are now assigning summer homework. Michael said it doesn’t feel like kids today are in school as long as they were when they were kids. But he said he never had homework in the summer. Kelly explained that kids are assigned summer homework in order to help keep them from forgetting everything they’ve learned.
Kelly explained that she doesn’t like to think of homework as a punishment, “but if they don’t want to do what you want that day,” such as go to the beach, she’ll say “well too bad. Grab your books we’re going to the beach.”
Michael noticed that Kelly got her haircut and she said that for the first few weeks after she gets her haircut, her hair “kind of freaks out.” She said that’s what she’s dealing with right now.
Kelly & Michael: Michael Strahan Pebble Beach Concours D’elegance
Michael shared that for his labor day weekend he went out to L.A. and hung out at his house. Then he went to Pebble Beach for the car show called the Pebble Beach Concours D’elegance and said it was amazing. Kelly said she looked at the Instagram picture of Michael at the car show and thought “look at his backyard, he has so many cars.”
He said it had been on his bucket list to do, and he was invited by Rolls Royce. He said he actually got one for the weekend, but he had to give it back.
He said he saw all kinds of cars at the show, but the most amazing thing about it was the people. He shared that there was one car that was worth $50 million. He said there were Ferrari GTOs and there’s only like 18 in the world and only like 13 were there. He said for one of the Ferraris, the owner was complaining about having to pay $12,000 to ship it.
“Once you spend $30 million on a car, that additional $12,000 needs to be spent on food,” Kelly joked.

Michael said they had a Ferrari that sold for $38 million at the auction and Kelly wanted to know if the car came with the cure for cancer. “No, but it should,” Michael said.
Kelly said she didn’t understand what could be in a car to make it that expensive, and Michael explained that it’s about the history of the car.
Kelly & Michael: Michael Strahan Driving Rolls Royce
Kelly then asked Michael if when he borrows a Rolls Royce, he gets nervous driving it around or parking it. Michael said you do look around for where you’re going to park “because you don’t squeeze into a spot.”
He said it’s not like when you’re at a mall parking lot, thinking you want to get close. He said he parks it far out to avoid a “door ding” but he doesn’t get nervous driving it.
Michael Strahan Trip To Sweden
Michael also shared that he went and visited his twins in North Carolina who are back in school, and have been for a few weeks now. He then went to Sweden. “Why are y’all lookin’ at me like, ‘What’s a black man doing in Sweden?'” Michael joked.
Kelly said she was texting Michael and he told her it was the only place he could get any privacy and she thought “are you sure?” He said the best thing about it is that he could walk the streets, sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee and a cigar, and no one bothered him. He said every once in a while, an American would come up to him.
He said he went with two friends and just relaxed, but it was cold. He said he loved the trip because of the anonymity and Kelly said if she wanted anonymity, all she had to do was wash her makeup off.
What I thought was really funny was that his idea of “cold” was it getting down in the 50s at night and only up to around the 60s during the day.
