Magazine covers are declaring “The Return of Daft Punk,” but Kelly Ripa has always been a fan of the French electronic music duo. Now that they’ve released their first new album in several years, their devoted fans are spending thousands of dollars on helmets modeled after Daft Punk’s signature look. One popular YouTube tutorial showcases how you can create a Daft Punk helmet in only 749 simple steps.
Lucky for Kelly and Michael, Gelman made two Daft Punk helmets especially for the hosts. They wore them and danced the robot to Daft Punk’s new single, “Get Lucky,” which is already the number one song in 55 countries. Kelly felt more like “a deep sea diver” than a robot.
Michael Strahan: Waitress Tipped $1,000
Michael shared a very short-but-sweet story that will brighten your day. After explaining to her customers that she wanted to visit Italy and trace her heritage, a waitress was tipped $1,000 on her bill. The extremely generous customers left the message: “Your ticket to Italy, enjoy.”
Michael advised the lucky waitress to look up his oldest brother, who lives in Florence. Since there are so many Strahans living in foreign countries, Kelly suggested that Live! with Kelly & Michael create a new segment called “Where in the world are all the other Strahans?”
