Kelly & Michael: Andy Samberg Engaged
Andy Samberg was co-hosting the show with Kelly Ripa while Michael Strahan is on vacation and he had some exciting news to talk about today. He was recently engaged. He is hoping to take a backseat during the wedding planning though, except when it comes to the food and drinks.
“We’ve been watching a lot of Say Yes to the Dress,” said Samberg. “And by we I mean me.”
Kelly applauded his wedding ring buying skills. Apparently Andy Samberg brought his fiance’s friend to help him pick it so he knew his fiance was going to like it.
“I would have showed up with a wintergreen lifesaver,” said Samberg about bringing the friend along.
Kelly wondered where he was going for the honeymoon, saying she and Mark spent all their wedding money, since they eloped, on their honeymoon to Rome.
“I’m thinking Six Flags,” said Samberg. “You know, really splurge and get the front of the line pass.”
Kelly Ripa Not Allowed on Roller Coasters
Kelly Ripa had funny story about Six Flags. When she was in fourth grade, her class was taking a trip to the amusement park and she was excited because she was finally tall enough to ride a roller coaster called Lightning Loops. While she did want to ride it, her mother was so scared for her she told Kelly her hair would probably get caught in the spokes and rip her head off.
Donut Wrapped Everything
Last week, Kelly and Michael tried the cronut, a half donut half croissant, that Kelly called “the greatest thing I have ever eaten.” She said they are hard to get though. There is always a line down the street and there is also a 6 cronut limit.
“If I could only have one food for the rest of my life, it would be the cronut,” said Kelly Ripa.
Anyways, the croissant is not the only thing being mixed with a donut. Kelly and Michael also recently looked at the Dunkin Donuts Breakfast Sandwich, a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich between two donuts. And now Krispy Kreme, in an effort to not be outdone, has come up with the Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joe, a sloppy joe sandwiched between two donuts. Even IHOP has jelly donut pancakes now.
Andy Samberg joked that the sloppy joe donut kind of sounded like an old timey insult.
