The Bacon Brothers: “Philadelphia Road” Best Of Album
The Bacon Brothers – actor Kevin Bacon and his musician brother, Michael Bacon – dropped by Live! with Kelly & Michael for an exclusive performance. Kelly and Michael are both big fans of the musical duo, who are undoubtedly two of show business’ most talented brothers.
The Bacon Brothers, who have been playing music together since they were kids, have a brand new album entitled Philadelphia Road: The Best of The Bacon Brothers. The recently released best of compilation features all of the band’s greatest hits from the past 15 years.
The Bacon Brothers: “I’m So Glad I’m Not Married” Performance
The Bacon Brothers performed “I’m So Glad I’m Not Married,” a really catchy song about not being in a relationship. “I’m so glad I’m not married to you,” Kevin sings in the chorus. I wonder who he’s talking about (Not wife Kyra Sedgwick, obviously, to whom he’s been married since 1988)? Both brothers play the guitar and take turns singing lead while performing.
When they finished playing, Kelly jokingly asked, “How do your wives feel about that song?” Kevin explained that the song is about being happy with just one person, and not being with other women. That makes up for it somewhat, I guess.
The Bacon Brothers: New York Town Hall On May 2 2013
The Bacon Brothers take turn singing lead and writing songs, but they won’t disclose who’s better at what. Kevin said that bouncing ideas off each other is “one of the great blessings” of making music together. Michael gave Kevin his very first guitar, which he still owns to this day.
The Bacon Brothers are currently on tour and will be playing New York’s Town Hall on May 2 2013.
