Kelly & Michael: Susan Sarandon Scrapbooks
Sarandon has always made scrapbooks, but 15 or 10 years ago she realized she was going to die. She had only made one album for the family, and realized that the kids were going to fight over the scrapbooks, so she wants to make one for each kid. She has about 50 shoe boxes and has been going through all of them and color coding them. She likes seeing them all again. She wants to make her kids remember that they had a happy childhood and that they liked each other.
Kelly & Michael: Thelma & Louise Selfie
Sarandon posted a great selfie. It was a recreation of the Thelma & Louise sefie with Geena Davis and it was amazing. It went viral. They look exactly the same. The Hollywood Reporter reunited people who had blockbuster movies and they took the selfie after the interview. They invented the selfie! Sarandon had her dog tweet it and it just took off. It’s a great sign.
Kelly & Michael: Susan Sarandon Plays Melissa McCarthy’s Grandma
Sarandon plays Melissa McCarthy’s grandma in Tammy, which is hard to believe. The two of them go on a road trip together. Sarandon said both of those things are hard to believe. In the story she had a baby when she was 15 or 16 and her daughter had a baby when she was 15 or 16, so that’s 32. If McCarthy plays a 35-year-old, then Sarandon’s character would be younger than she actually is.
Sarandon said she looks better because she has hair and makeup and doesn’t drink excessively, but her character does. She’s feisty and has a big appetite. Sarandon said that McCarthy looks and acts like she’s four rather than 40, so you have to take a leap in the beginning.
Kelly & Michael: Road Trips
Sarandon talked about the road trip. She shows up in the beginning with a rug and a six pack, then they go on a road trip. She said that every couple should go on a road trip before they get married because you learn a lot about each other.
Kelly & Michael: Tammy Review
They showed a clip of Tammy. Susan Sarandon’s character calls Melissa McCarthy’s character a quitter while they try to get they’re car unstuck. They do it, but they almost hit some people. Then Melissa McCarthy reveals that she doesn’t know who Mark Twain is, which is hilarious. Susan Sarandon tried to explain the context of the clip, but said you just have to be there and that it’s really funny. Tammy will be in theaters on July 2 2014.
