Live! with Kelly & Michael: Oprah Winfrey Goes to Africa
Oprah Winfrey received a long standing ovation. She told Erin Andrews that her peeping tom scandal definitely helped the rest of America be smart about their hotel room. Of course, there weren’t these issues on her summer trip to the Serengeti. She was frolicing with giraffes and staying cautious of the carnivores. The biggest problem she had was monkeys taking her potato chips.
Oprah said that lions and carnivores don’t kill unless they need to eat. She loved the trip because it put her back in line with nature. The trucks in the Serengeti are full of terrified people, but they’re safe for the most part.

The one thing Oprah misses from her talk show is the audience. She said that she used to love staying after and having chill time with the audience. Oprah ended at the right time for her and she was ready to move on to the next chapter, which was literally called Oprah: The Next Chapter.
When The Butler came up, she was trying to turn around her company OWN. She had a mini dance break and the audience would have been happy to have it continue. She said she shut down the haters and built her empire back up when it was floundering.
“You have to keep your eye on the prize that is your vision and your life,” Oprah Winfrey said.
Oprah Winfrey Talks Lindsay Lohan Out of Europe Trip
Oprah’s team brought in Tyler Perry and Super Soul Sunday to bring in viewers and give them a different feel. Oprah said her hair and makeup team are ready to head home because they are traveling more now that the stationary talk show is done.
After a recent interview, Oprah told Lindsay Lohan that she shouldn’t go to Europe because she would fall off the wagon. Winfrey heard this morning that Lohan decided to stay in the States after her stint in rehab.
Oprah Answers Revealing Questions
Winfrey answered some candid questions in “O, yes or O, No!” Oprah told Michael Strahan and Erin Andrews that she would rather not skydive and definitely wouldn’t try raw oysters. Oprah was coy, but she has read “50 Shades of Grey” and loves riding roller coasters.
Oprah set a new trend by turning down manscaping in favor of an au naturelle man. She’s all for French fries and against camping. Couples yoga was a yes, and tattoos were a big no. Skinny dipping was a firm yes, along with vodka martinis.
Michael Strahan in shorts? Oh, yes.
Lee Daniels’ The Butler: Oprah Winfrey
Based on a true story, Lee Daniels’ The Butler was directed by Lee Daniels and critics are raving about it. It tells the story of a black man that was the butler for roughly five U.S. Presidents, including Richard Nixon, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan. Michael Strahan said the film changed his world and his viewing experience.
Oprah said that the truth comes through in this film and Forest Whitaker absolutely shines. Oprah Winfrey said that you can recognize your history and relatives in the characters. Whitaker shines so brightly that even Oprah was lost in the background, said Strahan.
After working with Lee Daniels on Precious, Oprah was pushed to do The Butler. She said she had to hire a coach and work on crying on cue for this film, because she had big problems with it during The Color Purple. Her crying coach pulled her feelings out and brought out the right emotions for her character. Oprah said that no matter what your color or race, you will see your mother in her character, Gloria.
Lee Daniels’ The Butler comes out August 16 2013.
