Live!: Jimmy Kimmel is Getting a Doctorate

It seems like they are just handing out doctorates to anyone who wants them this week. While Michael Strahan just received his honorary doctorate from his alma mater this past weekend, it turns out Jimmy Kimmel is also getting an honorary doctorate from his alma mater as well next weekend.

While Strahan didn’t know he was getting the doctorate, Kimmel said he willed his to happen. He said he is always telling his fiance someday he will get an honorary doctorate. He joked he has even been practicing for the day by prescribing medication to people and diagnosing all the sicknesses his staff has.

“My fiance’s brother is an actual doctor,” said Kimmel. “He went to “medical school” for eight years. I dropped out and I am still going to be a doctor.”

Kimmel said the one thing he is hoping to happen at least once in his life is someone yelling, “Is there a doctor in the house,” so he can walk over and explain he how he received an honorary doctorate.

At least the person will get a laugh before they die.

Jimmy Kimmel Not Writing a Speech for His Doctorate

While Michael said he didn’t even write out his acceptance speech and still talked for 10 minutes, Kimmel said there is no way he could write a speech. He couldn’t even graduate college let alone write a speech that goes on for ten minutes. He was just hoping Michael could go with him for support and maybe he could ride out on Michael’s shoulders.

Kelly and Michael wanted to play a game with Kimmel so they played Jimmy Kimmel Lies, a game where Jimmy would tell two lies and a truth and Kelly and Michael had to decided which was the truth.
