Live! Auto Week: New York Auto Show SUVs & Crossovers
Live’s Auto Show Week continued on Thursday with Alan Taylor from “The Drive” radio show. Michael Strahan and guest co-host Maria Menounos checked out the latest and greatest in brand new cars from the upcoming New York Auto Show. Previously, the hosts viewed environmentally friendly cars, hatchbacks, and the latest flashy sports cars. Today’s theme was SUVs and Crossovers, and each car was a top secret world debut model.
Dodge Durango
The new Dodge Durango was so top secret, it had to be driven to the set completely covered! The big unveiling was worth the wait, though. The new Dodge Durango is very sporty and comfortable, with lots of new added technology. It features a complete entertainment system in front and back, plus 25 miles to the gallon.

Kia Sol
Alan described the new Kia Sol as “fun, funky and functional.” It receives 28 miles to the gallon and goes on sale in the fall for just $16,000- $18,000. You definitely get a lot for you money, including a car that talks back to you.
Jeep Cherokee
The new Jeep Cherokee, one of America’s most beloved cars, is a bit smaller but doesn’t lack on any cool features. It comes equipped with over 70 safety features, works on and off road and has all-wheel drive. It also gets 31 miles to the gallon and is relatively affordable (prices start in the low 20s).
Toyota Highlander
The new Toyota Highlander is more upscale than ever before, but still gets good fuel economy. It features three rows of seats, plenty of room and a talking entertainment system.
The New York Auto Show begins Friday, March 29 2013. On Friday’s show, Michael will head over to the action at the Jacob Javits Center. Tune in for even more cars that didn’t make it to the Live! set this week.
