Live Auto Show Week: Hatchbacks
Live’s Auto Show Week continued on Wednesday with more great new cars from the upcoming New York Auto Show. Once again, Alan Taylor from “The Drive” radio show stopped by to show off the latest models. Michael Strahan and guest co-host Vanessa Williams had the chance to check out the newest high-tech hatchbacks. Previously, the hosts viewed environmentally friendly cars and the latest flashy sports cars.
BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo
The brand new BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo features 300 horsepower, eight speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The sleek new hatchback also talks back to its driver! It starts at $40,000.
Ford Fiesta ST
The Ford Fiesta ST, with 200 horsepower, starts at $21,000. The car looks small, but it features plenty of room in the back. Michael also fit comfortably and admitted that it was a big upgrade from the teeny tiny Ford Festiva he drove in college.
Nissan Versa Note
The affordable Nissan Versa Note starts at just $13,995. It gets 40 miles to the gallon and features a front camera monitor perfect for safe parking. It’s definitely a lot of bang for your buck.
Volvo V60 Wagon
Finally, it was time for the world debut of the Volvo V60 Wagon. It’s a car jam-packed with technology; it even features a camera that will detect a pedestrian and stop itself. It featured 325 horsepower, all-wheel drive and gets 30 miles to the gallon.
The New York Auto Show begins Friday, March 29 and runs until April 7 2013 at the Jacob Javits Center. If you’d like to see all these cars, plus many more, in person, be sure to check it out!
