Kelly and Michael: Usher Returns
Grammy superstar Usher returned to Kelly and Michael just like he has returned to The Voice for another season as a coach. He was accidentally struck by someone in the audience as he did high fives on his way out. Find out about his work as Sugar Ray Leonard and one of his favorite snack foods, Australian licorice.

Usher has been tapped to play Sugar Ray Leonard in a movie about the sports legend. He said it was incredible to spend a year working on the project, and he said he spent a long time training as a boxer along the way.
Michael Strahan said that he noticed some evidence of Usher’s physique in photographs on Instagram. The cast for this movie includes Edgar Ramirez and Robert De Niro, so I’m sure we’ll be hearing much more about it as its release date approaches.
Usher told Kelly & Michael that he was showing off on social media for “selfie Mondays.”
Kelly and Michael: Usher Coaches The Voice
Usher has returned as a coach on The Voice, and Michael wondered what advice he got as a young artist. He said he was told to commit and be as believable as possible, even when you are singing songs written by other people.
“The only way that people begin to invest in you is if you can either tell their story great or if you can conjure the emotion that makes people feel something,” Usher said. He tries to share that message with aspiring musicians on The Voice.
He also said that the worst advice he ever got was to quit. He thinks his grandmother taught him about the power of visualization, so he would often say his aspirations aloud. Though there were some naysayers, obviously he has become a success.
Kelly & Michael Dish’n with Usher: Blake Shelton Vs Adam Levine
The hosts played a game called Dish’n with Usher, which would help the audience learn more about the popular entertainer. He told Kelly and Michael that Adam Levine takes the longest to get ready for a taping of The Voice, and that Usher is the most stylish.
He jokingly named Blake Shelton as the biggest diva, but admitted that it’s a close call between Shelton and Levine, with whom he would not want to share a dressing room. Shelton is The Voice’s biggest prankster, which did not surprise Kelly and Michael.
Kelly and Michael: Usher Australian Licorice
Of the coaches, Usher eats the most junk food, and his favorite is Australian licorice. He also named himself as the most romantic. Who’s worth the most money? Usher chose Shakira as the answer this time, and he also said she has the best body among his Voice colleagues.
Usher is The Voice coach with the most Grammy wins, but who does he think is the most talented? He copped out and chose Michael Strahan, I guess. Usher predicted that he would be the winning coach for this season of the show.
Kelly & Michael: Jill Scott The Voice
Jill Scott will be joining Usher’s team as a mentor on The Voice for the spring 2014 season, so be sure to watch for that. Meanwhile, Usher is keeping busy by working on a new album, and the co-hosts volunteered their services as backup singers.
Usher said that his children are growing up musical. Navid recently had his first piano recital, and little Usher is also pursuing athletics. You can tune in to see the music competition when The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC.
