Kelly & Michael: Simon Helberg
Simon Helberg came by to talk to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan about his new movie We’ll Never Have Paris. I mostly know him from The Big Bang Theory, so I was excited to hear about one of his other roles. Kelly & Michael messed up his introduction, but that’s what live TV is all about. And he had an amazing entrance. He had a great energy. He and Kelly dance alike. They half dance and stop. He said he appreciated she called it dancing.
Kelly & Michael: Simon Helberg Sick
Helberg warned the audience he was contagious. He had kids, so he gets sick. Kelly gave him some hand sanitizer.
Kelly & Michael: Simon Helberg Karate
Helberg lives in LA, but he didn’t always want to be an actor. He wanted to be a karate master and he trained for that. He watched The Karate Kid because he thought 25-year-old high school students would come get him. He became a black belt at 10. But now he can only hurt Michael emotionally. They were hard on him because they were trying to scare him out of it because he was so small. He actually tripped over his pants wearing a triple zero when he was training.
Kelly & Michael: Simon Helberg Pianist
Helberg’s a brilliant pianist. He went from karate to playing jazz. He played “The Roxy” and “The Whisky” when he was 13 or 14. He was in a band with a bunch of rock and roll guys. And they hired him. They used him though.

Kelly & Michael: ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Season 8
Helberg plays Howard on The Big Bang Theory. It’s been eight seasons, but it doesn’t feel that way. He’s still getting used to that amount of time. It’s been a long time. It’s unbelievable.
Kelly & Michael: Simon Helberg ‘We’ll Never Have Paris’
H starred and created We’ll Never Have Paris. He and his wife documented their horrible breakup that preceded their proposal. He decided to relive it all on camera. It was a clumsy moment. The breakup actually drove her to Paris. He said that she had no choice because he self-destructed. She met a French man who played violin and he thought he was being chivalrous, but it was actually stalking when he showed up. He eventually won her back and bullied her into marrying him.
She actually co-directed it. So he got to see all the mistakes that he made. She made him squeal higher and grovel more. Is there a musical duel? Maybe.
In the clip of We’ll Never Have Paris, Helberg ends up with a different girl. It was super awkward. We’ll Never Have Paris is in theaters now and will be on demand on January 23 2015.
