Kelly and Michael: Robert Wagner
Robert Wagner presented Kelly Ripa with a rose for his interview. “Smelling you is like smelling the most delicious, fragrant garden in the world, and touching you is like a warm cashmere blanket,” Kelly said, and Michael Strahan agreed.
Wagner recalled that he had a great time working with Ripa on the sitcom Hope & Faith, as Ripa’s character’s father. Now he is a big fan of Kelly and Michael’s chemistry as hosts. “That’s something you can’t buy, and you two have it,” Wagner said.
Kelly thought that Wagner has chemistry with everyone he works with. “You made me want to be rich and solve murders and crimes,” Strahan said of the star’s work in the series Hart to Hart. Now Wagner lives with his wife in Colorado for four months of the year, and they also spend plenty of time in Los Angeles, in addition to traveling.
Kelly & Michael: Robert Wagner You Must Remember This Review
Wagner has a new book called You Must Remember This, which explores a golden age of fashion, style, and elegance in Hollywood. Ripa wondered what the biggest change in Hollywood is that he has seen.
He said that the industry has gotten bigger, and some production has left the city. “This book is about the best time of my life,” he said of getting his start in the movies. He hoped that his thrill transferred to the page so readers can enjoy that vicariously.
Kelly and Michael: Old Hollywood Gossip Columnists
In his up-and-coming days, Wagner spent a lot of time at parties. How were those gatherings different back then? He said they were smaller and more intimate, unlike the more modern Hollywood ‘events.’ The hosts showed a photo of Wagner with Sophia Loren and a gossip columnist, Louella Parsons. Gossip columnists used to be a part of the scene and would mingle with their subjects, unlike in the modern era when they are much less visible.
Clifton Webb also appeared in the photograph. Wagner worked with him on a few films. Ripa thought that Wagner has not changed at all over the decades and still looks fantastic. She also said that actor Michael Weatherly does a fantastic impression of Wagner, who plays his TV dad on NCIS.
Be sure to indulge in old Hollywood memories from Wagner’s book, You Must Remember This.
