Nicki Minaj, one of the biggest stars in music today, is also a new judge on American Idol. She stopped by Live! With Kelly & Michael to discuss her exciting new job and her new CD. But first, the hosts showed a clip of Kelly’s Nicki Minaj impression from Halloween. Nicki thought that Kelly looked great!

Nicki recently performed with Justin Bieber and won two awards at the American Music Awards. But does the big star ever get sick of awards shows? Nicki said that she never gets tired or bored at the shows, because she still never thinks she’s going to win! Usually she’s just focused on her performances. She likes the AMAs especially, because the fans get a chance to vote.
Fans can also vote for Nicki for a People’s Choice Award. However, Nicki didn’t even know she was up for Favorite Hip-Hop Artist. When Kelly and Michael told her that she was nominated, Nicki said, “I am?”
Nicki Minaj: Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up
Nicki has a new album entitled Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up. Michael recently watched the making of Nicki’s album and tour in a special on the E! Channel. He said that he was very impressed to see how Nicki treats her devoted fans.
Of her fans, Nicki said, “they are the only reason why I do what I do.” The music industry can be rough and very tiring, but Nicki’s fans motivate her and inspire her to continue to work hard.
Nicki Minaj: New “American Idol” Judge
Kelly and Michael previewed the new season of American Idol with an exclusive clip featuring Nicki. She became very moved by the story of a woman whose fiance had just been paralyzed in a terrible motorcycle accident. Nicki told the woman that she was “a superstar,” and said that the story reminded her that life can change in the blink of an eye.
When Michael asked Nicki what the hardest part of judging is, she said that “it’s obvious”: she hates crushing people’s dreams. However, she would rather be honest than lie to someone’s face. She takes her role as judge very seriously, and sees it as a big responsibility.
Nicki will appear on the new season of American Idol, which begins January 16 2013 on Fox.
