Kelly & Michael: Kevin Kline 25 Year Anniversary
Kevin Kline came by to talk to Kelly & Michael. He’s a talented actor on both stage and screen and has won both Tony Awards and an Academy Award. He danced a tiny bit then had a great handshake with Michael. Kelly said bonjour to him. He and his wife are celebrating 25 years of marriage. He said that there really is a secret to keeping the romance alive, which means that he can’t tell them, but being an amazing person helps. Kelly thought he was talking about himself, but he was talking about his wife. He attributes it all to her and isn’t taking any credit.
Kelly & Michael: Kevin Kline Honorary Doctorate
Kline is receiving an honorary doctorate from his alma mater. He went to Indiana University. He’s played doctors on television, but now he really will be a doctor. He only went back once after he graduated when he was on tour with an acting company. It was right after he graduated. He said it’s one of the most beautiful campuses, and he knows because he’s toured everywhere around the country. He doesn’t have a speech prepared, but there’s a Q&A later.
Michael has gone through this already, and he had to say something. Apparently George Foreman’s was the best though. He just said thank you and sat down. “Brevity is the soul of wit,” Kline said. This is his second honorary doctorate though. He went to Julliard after Indiana and they gave him one already. They’ve only been from schools he’s attended. He said it’s self-serving, but he’s honored. He’s also doing a master class and talking to film students. He has two Tonys, but he won’t be brining any of his awards with him. Live! With Kelly & Michael has won Emmys.
Kelly & Michael: Kevin Kline The Last of Robin Hood
Kline has a very busy schedule with a movie coming out next week and The Last of Robin Hood, which is in theaters now. Michael asked what it was like to take on the role of Errol Flynn. Kline said that the movie is about his last years, which is after his star has descended. He’s down on his luck and is an alcoholic, addicted to morphine, and madly in love with a 15-year-old girl. She looks 20 though. When he found out he didn’t stop though. He liked young girls and was a rogue. He lived by his own rules, “which were very few,” he said. It’s going to expand to more theaters.
Kelly & Michael: My Old Lady Review
My Old Lady takes place in Paris. His character inherits a beautiful apartment from his estranged father, but when he gets there an old lady and her daughter are already living there. The French have a system where you can buy a home inexpensively, but you can’t take possession of it until the owner dies and you have to pay a monthly stipend. There are famous stories of people who outlived the people waiting for them to die. So that’s what Kline’s character’s doing. He speaks fluent French, but he doesn’t speak it in the film. The character doesn’t like the French.
They showed a clip of My Old Lady. In the clip he finds out that the old lady has a daughter who’s very upset. My Old Lady will be in theaters on September 10 2014.
