Kelly & Michael: Isla Fisher “Rise Of The Guardians” Interview

Isla Fisher: Yoga and Two Kids

Actress Isla Fisher always looks great, so how does she stay in such good shape? She told Kelly and Michael that she’s recently gotten into yoga. However, it’s not always easy to find the time to do it, because she has two daughters aged five and two. Therefore, she incorporates her yoga moves into doing things like playing with and cleaning up after her girls. Whatever works!

Isla Fisher: Clown and Mime School

Kelly & Michael: Isla Fisher "Rise Of The Guardians" Interview

Isla is a very funny comedian, but did you know that she actually trained as a clown? The Australia native lived in Paris for a time to study at Clown School (something that Kelly didn’t believe was real). She also trained as a mime, although she hadn’t done it for 15 years–until now!

Isla was reluctant to show off her skills, but she gave a quick lesson in miming to Kelly and Michael. She explained that it’s all about finding a contrast between tension and release. Kelly struggled, but Michael was–surprise–actually very good!

Isla Fisher: Tooth Fairy in “Rise of the Guardians”

Isla’s latest film is called Rise of the Guardians, a holiday themed animated tale. Isla portrays the Tooth Fairy, which was a part she was thrilled to play. In the film, the Tooth Fairy is part hummingbird, and she has many funny and heartfelt moments.

The concept of the film is that darkness has begun taking dreams away from the children of the world. That’s when the “guardians” of childhood–including the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, and Jack Frost–band together to save the day.

Isla brought a clip of the film, in which the Tooth Fairy chats with a little French mouse. She explained that in France, children believe that a little mouse–not a fairy–comes to collect their lost teeth. Judging by the clip, Rise of the Guardians looks like a great family film that both parents and kids will enjoy. It opens in theaters on November 21 2012.

About Loren DiBlasi

After my childhood dream of achieving Olympic figure skating gold fell through, I moved on to Plan B: become a writer. I've been writing since I can remember, and consider myself lucky to be making a career out of it. I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College in 2011, and since that time, I have worked as a writer, editor and blogger. Luckily for this site, my love of TV borders on obsession.

Isla Fisher is a beautiful and talented actress. I loved her in Definitely, Maybe. I would like to see her in more movies soon.
