Kelly & Michael: Gillian Anderson The X-Files
Gillian Anderson has come a long way since her days on The X-Files. She returned to New York to hang out with Kelly and Michael and discuss her new role in the NBC drama Crisis.
Anderson lived in New York after college, where she struggled to get by and was constantly going on auditions. She couch surfed among friends until they would get tired of her and she moved on.
Michael Strahan noted that it has been 20 years since The X-Files, and Anderson traveled to Comic Con events to celebrate with the show’s fans, who are everywhere. She said that it’s nice to still be loved. She got to reunite with David Duchovny in New York and San Diego.

Gillian Anderson grew up in London, England, until age 11. She has lived there for the past 12 years, and she has kept busy recently with a string of TV gigs. Anderson was curious about Michael’s British accent, and Kelly threw him under the bus before he could even do his terrible impersonation.
Anderson simply said, “Wow,” which Michael said that he did not find encouraging or discouraging.
Kelly & Michael: Gillian Anderson Teenage Daughter
Anderson is also a parent of three, with a teen daughter and two younger sons. Kelly Ripa compared parenting notes with Gillian. Her daughter is 19 and her sons are still in single digits.
She said that her daughter is currently spending a gap year in southeast Asia, and she recently sent Gillian a photograph of a man with the daughter’s name tattooed behind her ear. Sounds scandalous!
Kelly and Michael: Gillian Anderson Crisis TV Show
Gillian Anderson stars in the NBC series Crisis, in which a school bus containing the offspring of influencers is taken hostage. The passengers include the president’s son and Anderson’s CEO character’s daughter.
This puts the high profile parents out of control and out of their element. Rachael Taylor is an FBI agent and Anderson’s character’s long-estranged sister. The cast includes Dermot Mulroney, and there are plenty of secrets to unravel.
Anderson predicted that co-star Lance Gross is destined for great things, and Strahan said that Gross is an accomplished photographer. Gillian’s looks on the show are sharp, but she does not take the clothes home with her, despite Ripa’s encouragement.
Gillian took a break from TV for several years, but she and her teenage daughter were both riveted by this script, and she was curious about what could happen next for the characters. In a clip from Crisis, her character butts heads with a lawyer about what action she should take. You can watch the drama unfold on Crisis, Sunday nights on NBC.
