Elizabeth Olsen: “Live!” Fan
Elizabeth Olsen is one of America’s most promising young actresses. She first gained notoriety, and rave reviews, for her 2011 film Martha Marcy May Marlene. Currently, Elizabeth is promoting her latest film, Liberal Arts, which was written and directed by co-star Josh Radnor. Elizabeth joined Kelly & Michael to also discuss some of her upcoming projects and the end of her college career.
Elizabeth is actually a big fan of Live, which she watches at the gym in the morning. It helps her get through some tough work outs. While Elizabeth was talking, Kelly was distracted by her beautiful hair. She told Elizabeth that she resembled the “Herbal Essence Girl,” someone that Elizabeth is too young to remember! Elizabeth said she would google her.
Elizabeth Olsen: Working with Spike Lee
Elizabeth is getting ready to head to New Orleans to shoot Old Boy, a remake of a Korean film directed by Spike Lee. Elizabeth has never been to New Orleans, so is excited to visit. Kelly’s advice was to “embrace it all and eat everything.”
Kelly said that shooting a movie with Spike Lee is like having “a passport to pop culture.” Elizabeth said that she’s been watching a lot of Spike’s films in order to familiarize herself with his signature style. She also revealed that in real life, Spike is just as cool as his movies!
Elizabeth Olsen: Finishing College
Elizabeth plays a 19-year old college student in Liberal Arts, her new film. In real life, Elizabeth is also a student; it’s just that she’s been at it for six years! Because of her busy career, Elizabeth has had to take lots of time off, but she is set to graduate in January 2013. Elizabeth will have a BFA in Drama from New York University. In the winter session, she will take Art History and Literature classes, which her character from the film would love.
