Kelly & Michael: Chalene Johnson
Live! With Kelly & Michael finished with its “Kick Start the New Year: Fitness Edition” week with a visit from celebrity trainer Chalene Johnson. Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan already worked out with Dolvett Quince, Chris Powell, Shaun T, and Jessie Pavelka and I really enjoyed them, so I was excited to see what they did for their last segment with Johnson. I’ve found them all really helpful and easy to follow and they seem like really good workouts. I might try them out. I really like that they have been doing all of these segments for New Year’s resolutions.
Of course, Kelly & Michael were all decked out again. Johnson has devoted her life to helping others feel fit, trim and healthy. She seemed so excited to be there. She said she was inspired by Kelly & Michael. Kelly should be called Kelly Ripped.
Kelly & Michael: How to Stay Motivated
How do you stay motivated? You have to make it important. Put your goal on your calendar and get an accountability partner.
Kelly & Michael: Piyo Workout
They were working out with Kelly. It was not for food. It was for the Piyo workout. It’s like yoga. Put your feet on the plates. Put your leg back and touch the floor. Then switch legs. Then put both hands down and keep switching your legs.
Go in plank position. Then move your legs back and forth. It’s called the window washer. Get rid of your plates. Then tuck one leg in and extend it. Then go into plank, bend your knee, flip it over, and lift your arm up. Then switch sides. Michael said he felt like he was doing something illegal.
Kelly & Michael reminded every to consult a doctor before trying to do any of the workouts. Then they did two advanced Piyo moves. Michael did plank, then Kelly did plank on top of him. Then Johnson did plank on top of her and lifted her leg. Then Michael did pushups. It was the craziest thing. It was so cool and intense.
The workout seemed really intense, but it also seemed like it was great for flexibility. I really liked this one.
