Another congratulations was in order for Anne and her new husband, Adam Shulman. The newlyweds were married on September 29, 2012 in Big Sur, California. Anne said that she feels as if she “won the husband lottery” with her new spouse.
Kelly pointed out that the last time Anne Hathaway appeared on the show, she was newly engaged and said that she hadn’t made any wedding plans. However, Anne’s wedding took place just about a month later. “I lied through my teeth,” she admitted. “So sorry!”
Anne’s beloved dog, Esmerelda, was unfortunately not a part of the wedding. That’s because the ceremony took place on top of a 1,000 foot cliff and Anne was also worried Esmerelda would ruin her dress.
Anne Hathaway: Bruno Tonioli Choreography in Ella Enchanted
Many people didn’t know that Anne had such a great singing voice, but she actually first sang many years ago in the film Ella Enchanted. Anne was choreographed in that film by Bruno Tonioli, who is now known as a judge on Dancing with the Stars. Both Kelly and Anne whipped out their expert Bruno impressions.
Anne Hathaway: Mom Played Fantine in Les Miserables
Anne portrays Fantine in the new big screen adaptation of Les Miserables, but she isn’t the first Hathaway to take on the famous role. Previously, Anne’s mom was an understudy for Fantine on a national tour of the popular musical. Anne’s father was the first person to play “I Dreamed a Dream” for Anne’s mother. Many actresses and singers have performed the legendary song, but Kelly assured Anne that “no one sings it like you sing it.”
Speaking of family members, Anne wanted to wish her older brother Michael a happy birthday. Another 12/12/12 birthday!
