Kelly & Michael: Donnie Wahlberg Mom’s Favorite
The multi-talented Donnie Wahlberg appeared on Live! With Kelly & Michael to discuss the new season of Blue Bloods. He had plenty of fans in the audience, but his number one fan is still his mom. Whenever Donnie or his brother, Mark, are interviewed on talk shows, Mom always offers her two cents, and always wants them to talk about her.
The last time Mark was interviewed by Kelly and Michael, he shared the story of angering his mom by getting a shamrock tattoo at the age of 11. According to Donnie, though, that’s not quite what happened. He said Mark was more like 13, and the tattoo was Sylvester the Cat with Tweety Bird.
When Donnie got his first tattoo, he got his mom’s initials, so she wasn’t even mad. Very smart. “I’m pretty sure I’m the favorite,” Donnie said.

Donnie’s new girlfriend is Jenny McCarthy, and he explained how the two first met. They did Andy Cohen’s show together, and he found her to be “gorgeous” and “smart.” Later, after he appeared on her show, Jenny’s assistant gave his assistant her phone number. Donnie waited two weeks to call her, but obviously, his plan worked.
Kelly was shocked by this “two week” plan, but Donnie said there’s a reason. Those two weeks are the last time a guy will have control over relationship. “Once we call, it’s over,” he said.
Donnie Wahlberg: Best Fans & “Twug”
Donnie has the best fans in the business. They have grown up right along with him, and have stayed dedicated throughout the years. Kelly said that every time he appears on the show, they receive so many requests for tickets.
Donnie shares love for his amazing fans through Twitter. He invented the “Twug,” which is a Twitter hug. Kelly thought it was something dirty.
Kelly & Michael: Donnie Wahlberg Directing “Blue Bloods”
Donnie’s popular CBS drama Blue Bloods is currently in its fourth season. Soon, Donnie will direct an episode, and he’s getting a bit nervous. “How do you direct Tom Selleck?” Kelly asked. Donnie said that he’s nervous about directing such “a legend,” but Tom is always great to work with, and is so dedicated to the show.
Kelly’s advice for Donnie? “Don’t screw it up!” But we all know that Donnie will do a great job. He loves working on the show, and said the cast and crew are all like real family.
