Kelly & Michael: Diane Keaton and Kelly Ripa Marvin’s Room

Diane Keaton came by to talk to Kelly & Michael. Her films include “little films” such as The Godfather trilogy, Annie Hall, Reds and Something’s Gotta Give. She’s also an “Oscar winning legend.” She had a great entrance. “That was a rush,” she said. Kelly told her she looked like a supermodel. “Of a certain age,” Keaton said. Keaton said that it’s great to see them because she didn’t know Michael, but she knew Kelly because she was Coral in Marvin’s Room. They showed a picture. She had a great line.

Keaton is an author and actress, but she also does one of Michael’s favorite things: she renovates homes. Michael moved five or six times in two or three years. He’s doing a little bit of everything. Kelly said he almost cut off a finger demolishing a glass wall in his house. He put some gloves on though.

Keaton wanted to say one thing about Michael. She told him he’s beautiful. He loves the gap teeth. She called it genius. Keaton said she wanted to add him to her list of kisses. She has a beauty wall. She wrote a book called Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty, which is a group of essays and one of them is called “Prisoners on my Wall,” which is all the men she wants to kiss. She has their pictures on their wall and she added Michael to the wall because he has a great face. Then they kissed. It was a great moment. Keaton said it was soft and went real deep like a sponge. It was so awkward and great.

Kelly & Michael: Diane Keaton and Michael Douglas

They talked about And So It Goes, which is a romantic comedy and is Keaton’s first time working with Michael Douglas. Kelly couldn’t believe it. They’re the same age, but it never happened because he never picked her. Keaton got even with him, though, because she tortured and teased him the whole time on set. She told him he was horrible and treated him really badly, but she said he likes things like that.

She did say that they were doing a scene together and he’s famous for being a corrupted kind of character like in Basic Instinct and Fatal Attraction and Wall Street. This movie was about second chances, which could happen to anyone. She watched him doing a monologue and he started to break down and cry. He was so emotional, and Keaton thought this was a side of him she had never seen. She said he had a great heart and that she adored him. Keaton asked if he has been on the show and if he liked Michael. Kelly said the Michaels’ kiss was much more explosive. Then Keaton said that she and Kelly should kiss, but not in front of the audience.

They showed a clip of And So It Goes. In the clip Douglas talked to Keaton about how he wants to be with her, but she didn’t like the way he was talking about it. He wasn’t very romantic, but then he kissed her.  She said that’s better and took a drink of wine as they headed out the room. It was pretty hilarious. Keaton was great. Kelly said that they should have had a camera on Keaton while she was watching the scene. Kelly said they love having her there and asked her to come back every week. And So It Goes opens on July 25 2014.
