Live! with Kelly & Michael: Chris Colfer
Erin Andrews jumped right in and expressed her condolences over the death of Glee star Cory Monteith. It was probably a good move, because we were all still distracted by Chris Colfer’s tight skinny jeans and out of this world high hairdo. He said that everyone is doing as well as can be expected. Shooting on the next season of Glee started Monday, August 5. Colfer said he hasn’t been back to set yet, but he’s excited to hit the halls of McKinley again.
Kurt Hummel is getting a new nemesis this season! Well, he’s never really had a true nemesis, just bullies beating him down. Now we’ll get epic fighting duets between Chris Colfer and Adam Lambert. Seriously, this is the best move Glee has made since bringing in Idina Menzel to play Rachel Berry’s mom. Colfer said he’s really excited to get to sing battle with Lambert. He wants to see Kurt get mean.
Chris Colfer Invited to Downton Abbey Set
Further proving that Chris Colfer and I would be best friends, he got himself invited to the set of Downton Abbey. How do you manage that?! He posted an Instagram photo of himself in front of the castle with the caption “Breathe.” I’m sorry, Colfer, but I can’t. I’m fangirling too hard right now.
Colfer was squealing and apologizing to the cast for his 12-year-old girl-like behavior, but come on. When you roll up to Downton Abbey and Lady Mary is chilling in the sitting room, what else can you do but squeal and flail?
While in Europe, Chris Colfer had very protective fans. A teenage girl saw that he was being bothered by paparazzi, so she decided to do something about it. She slugged the photographer and ran away. Best fan ever.
“Violence is horrible, unless it benefits me,” Colfer said with a sly smile.
Chris Colfer Writing Biopic Script?
Colfer really shined in the role of high school underdog that tries to start his own literary magazine. He said that he has a few more irons in the writing fire and could be writing the script to a biopic soon. His busy schedule has him mum on the projects, but when it happens they will be fantastic.
Chris Colfer: Land of Stories The Enchantress Returns
New York Times bestselling author Chris Colfer has a phenomenal ring to it. The sequel to his first NYT bestseller, The Land of Stories, The Enchantress Returns is now in stores. The series follows twins Alex and Conner, who are swept into the fairy tale world. This isn’t a Disney magic land, but the Grimm Fairy Tale world. The Enchantress Returns is about the evil queen from Sleeping Beauty (not Maleficent) coming back to take over. Conner and Alex must stop her and save the day.
Colfer said that he doesn’t know how he has the time to write these big books. I haven’t even had a moment to read the first Land of Stories, which is still chilling on my bedside table and signed by Colfer himself. He is thankful for the downtime on set when he can catch up on non-Glee projects. He assures fans that he has no ghost writers and wrote every word of his three bestselling books.
Land of Stories is safe for kids to read, but all ages are loving the series. Does he see a movie in the future?
“I’ve always said, I would rather for it to be a great book that 100 people read than a crappy movie that 1,000 people see,” Colfer said. For now, it’s a someday on the movie deals.
Chris Colfer thanks the people that taught him to read and write, his elementary school teachers, in the back of the book. He said that he was a good writer and loved to read, but he was the worst student because he never did his homework. Being a great kid makes up for everything.
The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns is now available.
