Kelly & Michael: Computer Glitches
Kelly & Michael were having some technical difficulties on July 14 2014. They had some computer glitches and were held backstage for a little while and weren’t sure if they were actually on the air or not, but it all worked out. Kelly said that they thought it was July 14 2014, “but if it’s not, it’s just the Matrix.” Kelly & Michael talked about how usually things are their fault, but since it wasn’t this time, they became really judgmental.
Kelly & Michael: Michael Strahan New Yorker
Michael had a really good weekend. He stayed in the city, which is rare for him. He said it was cool because a lot of people weren’t in the city, so it wasn’t really packed, but the driving is still the same. People in the city can’t drive, but Michael loves to drive. When he first came to the city in 1993 when he got drafted by the Giants, he stayed at the Marriott Marquis and didn’t leave the room until somebody came and got him because he was so scared.
People think New York is scary. Michael thought that Houston was the “fastest” city. Then he came to New York and would look out his window at two in the morning and there were people out and he didn’t think he could handle it. Now he loves it. He even loves to drive and cut off cab drivers. He’s a New Yorker and a Texan, but doesn’t think anyone can truly be an LAin. Kelly said that she knows people who are born and raised in LA, which they said is weird.

Kelly’s lived in New York for almost 26 years now, and for the first time ever she went to Manhattanhenge. She walked from Soho to 42nd street. Twice a year, in New York City, the sun sets and aligns perfectly with 42nd street, 34th street, and 57th street. You can watch the sun set between the buildings perfectly. She tweeted it because it was so beautiful. She was in the city on her own for the night and had never done it before, so she did it. It was a good walk. They showed the picture. People were going into the street to take pictures.
On Saturday she went to her assistant’s baby shower. Kelly keeps reminding her that she’s her first born, but she’s having a little baby named Charlie. Then she went home to see her parents. She loves south Jersey. She said it really is the garden state. Michael misses living there. It’s green and spacious. Kelly’s parents make her laugh too, and her dad sent her home with a bushel of Jersey corn that she was going to give to people that work on the show.
Her dad used to grow his own corn, but they went to a farm stand called Stella’s, which they always go to. The owner is 97 years old now, and Kelly loves that farm stand. She got tomatoes and corn. She eats the tomatoes like an apple. Michael said it’s different going home as an adult and he goes to a hotel sometimes, but Kelly said not at her house. Kelly said going home and sharing a bedroom with her husband is weird though. Her parents make up two rooms.
Kelly & Michael: Tracy Morgan Home
Michael talked about how Tracy Morgan got out of the hospital. He’s back home and is rehabbing, which is good. Sometimes just being in the hospital can psychologically make you feel worse than you are, so he’s home and getting back to normal. He’s with his fiancé Megan, and his daughter. They said welcome home to him.
Kelly & Michael: Jay Orsillo and Brittany Forgione Wedding
Kelly gave a shout out to Jay Orsillo and Brittany Forgione. They actually met on the show and they got married this weekend. Michael said that made him feel like Love Connection. They showed a picture of them on the High Line. It was beautiful.
