Kelly & Michael: Taye Diggs Cohost
Kelly came out with Taye Diggs instead of Michael at the co-host desk today. People were very excited. “The line forms behind me, ladies,” Kelly said. Michael’s actually on vacation. Diggs said he liked Kelly’s clothes. They matched and everything. Kelly said they were a “match made in heaven.”

It was a beautiful weekend. It was a unique weekend for New York; it was just beautiful the whole time. It was sunny and nice out.
Kelly & Michael: Taye Diggs Ballet

Diggs went to the ballet. He said he had culture and Kelly told him he was Mr. Culture. He went to ABT. He also took his son to the park.
Kelly & Michael: Taye Diggs New Book
Diggs’ son is four and a half now. Kelly’s son wanted to know when Diggs was going to write his next book. He loves Chocolate Me! He actually wrote another book called Mixed Me! about and interracial boy. He said he wrote it for his son.
He took his son to the ballet and his face was so serious he had to ask if he was okay. He said he was fine and asked if he was supposed to walk around all day with a huge grin on his face. He was very sarcastic. Kelly said that boys’ testosterone drops at different levels.
Kelly & Michael: The Tony Awards
Diggs asked Kelly if she watched any sports this weekend. She said, “Oh, come on. Of course not.” She did watch the Tony’s though. She congratulated everyone. Diggs is a big part of the Broadway community and was excited for Audra McDonald. Kelly cried when she won.
Diggs said this is like her 15th Tony, but Kelly said it’s actually her sixth win. Has she ever not won? It still meant so much to her though. Diggs said you have to see her. She’s incredible and took on a different person in the role. Neil Patrick Harris also won for Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Diggs saw that too. It’s amazing. Kelly said she always thinks that if Madonna and Neil Patrick Harris had a child, it would be Neil Patrick Harris in Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Diggs said that’s going to be his third children’s book. Brian Cranston also won.
Kelly & Michael: NBA Finals & Stanley Cup
The Miami Heat won the NBA finals game. It was a very good game. The series is tied now.
The Rangers are down two to nothing, but now they’re coming home to New York, and that makes a huge difference. Diggs is more of a New York sports fan. He likes sports in general. He likes the LA teams, but considers himself a New Yorker.
Kelly & Michael: California Chrome’s Owner’s Rant
California Chrome’s owner was very upset. Kelly said it’s an upsetting story. She doesn’t know if he was valid or not. He went on a huge rant about how horses who didn’t run the Triple Crown can still run and win at the Belmont Stakes. That’s always the way it’s been. That didn’t seem fair to Diggs. Kelly said it’s not what you say, but the way you say it. The horse that did win was named Totalis, and Kelly congratulated the horse. The owner later apologized for his comments.
