Live! with Kelly & Michael: Sandra Bullock Gravity Review
Thursday is the new Friday, according to Kelly and Michael, who had a life-changing movie to share with the audience. Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, tells the story of astronauts “when a cataclysmic event occurs.”
The movie, in which the stars are trapped in outer space, is remarkable, according to Kelly Ripa. Michael Strahan said the movie was very intense, and the Live! staffers were unsettled by the movie. Kelly said she could not wear her 3D glasses through the entire film.
Kelly made an early Oscar prediction for Sandra Bullock for Gravity. Tune in on October 3 to see Sandra Bullock discussing the movie on Live! Michael said the special effects of the movie were phenomenal, because obviously they did not film it in outer space.
The rest of us will have to wait until October 4 to see the movie in theaters.
Kelly Ripa: 2013 America’s Cup Yacht Race
The America’s Cup is a series of yacht races in which the champions must win nine races. Team Oracle from the US was down 8-1, but they won eight consecutive races to claim the prize.
Live! had video of the winners at the finish line, and this is one of those stories I can appreciate even though I know virtually nothing about the sport. Kelly compared their uniforms to those that football players wear, and the co-hosts agreed that yacht racing is physically intense.
Ripa’s husband, Mark Consuelos, said that he knows how hard the sport is because he has worked out on a Hobie Cat. Strahan poked fun at Kelly’s lack of sports jargon knowledge, but he said he has been on both sides of a sports comeback story.
Many years ago, Ripa said her father took her family to a Philadelphia Eagles game. The family left early in the fourth quarter because the team was winning, but by the time they got to the car, the team had lost to the Vikings.
Michael Strahan: Overweight Dogs Workout Spa
Though Kelly’s pet Chewy is not among them, Michael Strahan reported that over half of America’s dogs are overweight. Ripa said you can’t leave food out for dogs at all times.
The consequence of this is a cottage industry of dog spas and workout programs. Dogs can hit the treadmill or go swimming to get in shape. This is just ridiculous! Some workouts cost between $40-100 per day. “Either that or just stop giving the dog so much food and take him to the park,” Strahan recommended.
