Kelly Ripa: “Crossfire Hurricane” Review

Last night, Kelly and her husband, Mark, checked out a new Rolling Stones documentary on HBO called Crossfire Hurricane. She said that it was incredible. It detailed their entire history, from their beginnings in London in the early ’60s, to the death of founding member Brian Jones, to the tragic Altamont Free Concert where an audience member died. Kelly was shocked at how bands like the Rolling Stones were able to perform in such chaos back then, with such little security. It was like “the wild west.”

Michael Strahan: Juvenile Diabetes Foundation & St. Jude

Michael spent his night hosting the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation dinner. He got to meet Joan Jett, who performed at the event and auctioned off one of her guitars. Kelly was very excited to hear that Joan is a fan of daytime television and watches the show.

And that’s not the only charity Michael is currently involved in. He recently filmed a series of PSAs for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Other celebrities featured are Jennifer Aniston, Sofia Vergara, and Shawn White. Kelly reminded everyone what a great organization St. Jude is, and how they help children with cancer and their families.

Hurricane Sandy: World War II Love Letters Found

Many people lost everything in Hurricane Sandy, which completely devastated the east coast. However, for one lucky couple in New Jersey, an extremely important personal memento thought to be lost forever was recently found. It was a box of love letters that the couple had written each other between 1942 and 1948, and it just recently washed ashore after being swept away by the storm. What a happy ending!

Not so happy is the story of a bunch of Staten Island teenagers who will have to re-take their SATs because the original scores were lost in the storm. That’s truly a nightmare!

Kelly & Michael: Man Swallows Millions in Diamonds

Kelly read the story of a South African man who was caught with 2.2 million dollars in diamonds–inside of his belly. He had swallowed the diamonds in an attempt to smuggle them, but was caught at the airport. How will they be removed from his body? With the use of laxatives.
