Kelly & Michael: Hip Hop Church
Michael goes to church on various occasions. He said he’s always in church because church is a state of mind. Kelly didn’t buy that. Kelly’s parents wanted her to go. Michael said that he thought everyone goes to heaven, but Kelly said that she’ll be in the express lane because she goes to church.
They’ve opened up a “hip hop church” in North Carolina. It’s for people who have become disillusioned with the church. Kelly loved it. She thought it was a great idea. It updates the hymns. They have a DJ. Kelly started rapping. It was actually kind of awesome. Michael said, “You may not be the leader of the SoulCycle class, but you can lead that church any day you want.” I completely agree.

Michael likes the church too. The world evolves and kids’ interests change. Kelly conceded on church being a state of mind too. Michael talked about the church he’s gone to in Texas. It’s like a live concert. Kelly said that they always sleep through regular Mass and wind up at Chinese Mass or Spanish Mass, and there’s a definite difference. The Spanish Mass has the best band, while the Chinese Mass is so inclusive. They can still understand what’s happening. It’s all the same, just in Chinese. They talk in English, but everyone else is saying it in Chinese.
Kelly & Michael: Bart & Rachel Ring Found
Michael talked about the people who search for treasure with the metal detectors. Bob Osmond, from St. Petersburg, Florida, found a ring that said Bart & Rachel. He’s trying to find them. It’s a large ring. Maybe they don’t want the ring found. Maybe he threw it in the water. Maybe it slipped off. Osmond’s a nice guy.
His favorite thing that he found was a three-karat diamond engagement ring that belonged to a county deputy’s wife. She cried when he gave it back. He always gives things back. He’s a bad treasure hunter! He’s gotten, money, hugs, plants, and baked good from people. Brownies were the best, but he wanted milk with it. Bart and Rachel should reach out.
You can email Kelly & Michael if you know them so they can get their ring back. Kelly’s kids and their friends were treasure hunting on the beach, and all the parents were taking the change out of their pockets and throwing it on the beach because the kids were having such a good time. They had a hard time finding it.
Kelly & Michael: What It Takes Review
Mark Herzlich, Michael’s friend who’s on the Giants and has been in the audience on the show and went to Boston College, wrote a book called What It Takes. He had cancer in his senior year, but made it to the NFL! It’s a great story about father and son relationships. It would be a great Father’s Day gift. It also has a great cover. Michael said he always looks like that, and he does it to look good.
