Kelly & Michael: The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime
Kelly Ripa saw The Curious Case of the Dog in the Nighttime, which is on Broadway, and she absolutely loved it. It’s about the mind of a guy who is trying to figure out what happened to a dog. He’s on the spectrum. Kelly loved that the show really showed the inside of someone’s mind. The set was also amazing. Everyone has great things to say about it.
Kelly & Michael: David Muir Brad Pitt Interview
David Muir interviewed Brad Pitt while he was in Atlanta. It’s going to air October 17. Kelly said Muir’s the only person who could make Pitt look plain. Pitt’s new movie Fury is about WWII vets, but he mostly talked about getting married, which he never talks about. The kids love it, but he also said that it’s not just a piece of paper, but there’s a security that comes with it. That was really surprising.

Kelly & Michael: Drive-Thru Funerals
There’s a new funeral home in Michigan where you do drive thru funerals. You pop your head in and get three minutes to pay your respects. Kelly really liked that idea, but I think it’s even more uncomfortable that way. Kelly giggles during tragedies. When Muir lost his grandfather he started giving a reading that another person just gave. Then he started laughing.
Kelly & Michael: Dead Grandmother Texting
A British family was shocked when they received a text from their grandmother who passed away. She was buried with her favorite things including her cell phone. Then she texted three years later. The granddaughter would text her every once in a while and she got a reply “I’m watching over you.” They gave the number away and the new guy thought it was joke. Gelman always texts Kelly thinking she’s his daughter.
Kelly & Michael: Bathing in Red Wine
Someone has been bathing in red wine. The antioxidant is good for you and it rejuvenates you. He mixes it with water. It helps him relax, but drinking also does that. It’s very wasteful. It’s 250 bottles to soak in a tub of red wine. Kelly likes boxed wine.
Time to Smile Travel Trivia: Mark Consuelos
Kelly asked Muir if he’d ever seen the show before because it was clear to her that Mark Consuelos had no idea what was going on yesterday. The Time to Smile Travel Trivia dancer was Mary Hernandez from San Diego, California. Muir was on the subway and a man was on in his bathing suit and he told Muir that he was just dancing on the show. The contestant was Dawn Kaestner from Snohomish, Washington. She’s an early literacy programmer for the public library system. She reads children’s books, does story time, and introduces young people to the love of books. She played for the St. James’s Club in Morgan Bay. It’s valued at $8,500. The question was:
What team’s home stadium did Mark Consuelos say was where he saw his fist baseball game?
She got it right away. It was the Kansas City Royals. She picked number 30 for her favorite basketball player’s jersey to get eight place settings of American made fine china from Lenox valued at over $500.
