Kelly and Michael: Super Bowl Bet & Face Tattoo
Kelly and Michael opened the show by discussing a free furniture Super Bowl bet that is making some customers very happy, as well as the face tattoo that a teenager may soon regret.
Kelly & Michael: Ugliest Time For Women
Kelly said she cannot get past the study that found women feel their ugliest at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. She warned everyone to check themselves out in the mirror tomorrow. But Michael said he thinks everyone is beautiful all the time.
Kelly and Michael: Willie Randolph St Jude Fundraiser
Willie Randolph threw a Game Day Give Back Super Bowl party at his house, to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. They collected $585.50 for the cause, which is great for collections at a house party. Michael Strahan is an ambassador for St. Jude’s, and the Randolphs heard him talking about the fundraiser on a recent show.
The Randolphs would be responsible for raising the Consuelos children in the event that Kelly and Mark passed away suddenly, which must be a weird thing to know.
Kelly & Michael: Free Furniture Super Bowl Bet
A furniture store made a bet with its customers. They invited everyone to purchase furniture on a specific day, with the understanding that it would be free if this year’s Super Bowl featured a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Of course, that unlikely circumstance did occur, and now the store has to give away all that stock. The company, which has been in business for 70 years, is returning $600,000 in customer purchases made, to hold up their end of the bet.
I think it’s nice that they are not going out of business and are still living up to their end of the deal. This is the third consecutive year they have made this bet with customers, but Kelly speculated it won’t continue for a fourth year.
Jacoby Jones ran 108 yards in about 11 seconds to score a touchdown during Super Bowl 47. The game’s turning point made Kelly nervous when she realized she might have to eat chicken wings.
Kelly and Michael: Disney World MVP Joe Flacco
The MVP Joe Flacco went to Disney World, as promised. He was pictured with Mickey Mouse at the Florida resort and amusement park yesterday. The year that Michael Strahan’s New York Giants won the Super Bowl, Eli Manning was the MVP and he made the Disney trip.
Michael was the MVP of the Celebrity Beach Bowl over the weekend, but apparently that does not include an exotic giveaway. Both Kelly and Michael are bound for Disney World in the coming weeks, as the show hits the road.
He said that key players are taken aside so they know about the Disney trip and are prepared to accept it if they are honored. He said that the most valuable player will often be a quarterback.
Kelly & Michael: Michael Strahan MVP
Kelly orchestrated an impromptu celebration to honor Michael. She sent someone backstage for confetti and asked the audience to sing “When You Wish Upon A Star.” Good thing there is always confetti nearby backstage.
“I’m going to Disney World,” Michael announced, beaming, as confetti streamed down on the co-hosts. At least it’s true that he is actually making the trip very soon. Michael said that he is always glad he doesn’t have to clean up after the silly stunts on the show.
Kelly and Michael: Jesse Heiman Kisses Bar Refaeli
Actor Jesse Heiman did about 60 takes with supermodel Bar Refaeli for that revolting Go Daddy commercial at the Super Bowl. “I feel like she really worked harder in that scenario,” Kelly said. “He didn’t even move his mouth.”
He made between $35,000-60,000 for his participation in the ad. I guess you can’t call that ad campaign unsuccessful, since everyone is still talking about it.
Kelly & Michael: Construction Worker Bubble Wrap
A construction worker nearly died in a fall, but a roll of bubble wrap broke his fall. Kelly reported that he fell 30 feet and landed on a scaffolding wrapped in bubble wrap. That is one great use for the packing material, and Michael noted this was some good luck. There was a Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day just last week, as the co-hosts observed.
Kelly and Michael: Girlfriend’s Face Tattoo
A Belgian tattoo artist and his newfound girlfriend decided to make things serious and get engaged after just 24 hours of their relationship. Then he tattooed his name on her face, which is such a terrible idea. That is exactly the kind of mistake people are susceptible to at age 18. I’d say any tattoo north of your neck is a bad idea. Kelly wondered whether the girl was under the influence during this process.
Kelly & Michael: Deer Antler Spray
Kelly is very upset that no one is taking her fears seriously. She has yet to get any offers of assistance with blood doping for her upcoming Empire State Building Race.
Michael suggested the deer antler spray that supposedly converts into testosterone. This gave Kelly another idea about how to succeed in her race event. “I just want a lifetime ban from this sport,” Kelly said.
Kelly and Michael: Anne Papa 100th Birthday
Michael Strahan wished a happy 100th birthday to Anne Papa, who loves the show and thinks the secret to staying young is keeping active.
Blizzard To Beach Trivia: Pauley Perrette
Robert Rintoul from Guilford, Connecticut, played trivia for a vacation at the St. James’s Club Morgan Bay in St. Lucia.
What city did we say Pauley Perrette is originally from?
The answer was New Orleans, and someone in the studio audience also took home a $500 Fandango gift certificate.
