It was a weird start to the day on Live! With Kelly & Michael when Michael just waved from Washington, D.C. and Kelly came out dancing by herself back in New York. Kelly said she couldn’t even figure out how get in her chair without him.
Kelly Ripa Easter Egg Roll
Michael was in the White House’s Jacqueline Kennedy Garden that Mrs. Johnson created in 1965. He said that 30,000 people went to the Easter Egg Roll. Kelly has been there before. She brought a picture of her family at the Easter Egg Roll. She compared that to a picture of her family now to show how much they’ve grown. Michael was surprised to see them with a pickup truck, but it wasn’t hers. They were at a brunch and they posed in front of a friend’s truck.
Kelly & Michael: Michael’s Trip to Washington, D.C.
Michael drove to Washington, D.C. He thought it would take just as much time as flying with security and lines and everything. But he didn’t account for the Easter traffic. Kelly said she takes the train. She thinks it’s beautiful to pass through big cities and small towns. Michael thought he might see if a friend would drive his car back so he can take the train. He didn’t realize it would have to be a round trip when he decided to drive there.
Kelly and Michael: Easter Egg Roll Facts
Kelly had some facts about the Easter Egg Roll. The Easter Egg Roll is in its 136 year. The theme is “Hop Into Healthy, Swing Into Shape,” for the First Lady’s fitness initiative.
Kelly showed vintage photos of the first Easter Egg Roll. She then showed a hilarious photo of two kids that she said was her and Michael at the first Easter Egg Roll. “I was only three years old and six feet tall,” Michael laughed. They both claimed they had forgotten about that time. Michael showed some souvenir eggs.
Kelly & Michael: White House Souvenir Eggs
There are five different eggs for 2014. They’re all different colors. They’re signed by the President and First Lady. There’s also a Bo and Sunny egg. Michael saw Bo when he got to the White House and he thought it was a statue because he wasn’t moving but it was really because Bo was doing his business. Kelly said that people tend to forget that he’s a real dog. “He puts his pants on four legs at a time like the rest of us,” she quipped.
Kelly and Michael: World’s Biggest Rabbit
Kelly talked about the world’s biggest rabbit. It’s 49 pounds and eats $4,000 worth of food in carrots a year. He’s called Darius the uber rabbit. They wondered if he can hop. He’s a Continental Giant Rabbit. Michael thinks that they’re so big that they just walk to you.
