Kelly & Michael: Eating in a Restaurant Where you Know the Chef
Michael went to American Cut for dinner last night. It’s the new Marc Forgione restaurant. It was delicious. Kelly loves his restaurants. Michael saw him while he was there and he said, “I hope you’re hungry.” He gave him a lot of food. Kelly said it’s a lot of pressure to eat it, but Michael got it done.
He said the hard part is when he says he doesn’t want dessert and they bring it out anyway. He eats it because he’s weak. Kelly’s the same way. Plus, you feel like you have to try everything if you know the chef and he’s a friend of the show, but you don’t want to hurt the pastry chef’s feelings. “The next thing you know, you’ve had a 700 course dinner,” Kelly said.
Kelly & Michael: Bear in a Hammock
Kelly was obsessed with this story that was in the news yesterday and is still in the news today. There was a bear in a hammock. It was honestly adorable. They said it was crazy. It was in Daytona Beach, Florida. Kelly said that most people can’t balance in a hammock, but that bear could!
This is why bears are always good in the circus. They have great balance. Michael said that bear is really trusting because he would think it would fall, but that bear had no worries. It would make a great commercial for the hammock. Kelly said to Google people falling out of hammocks later. Micahel thought it was hilarious.
Kelly & Michael: Betting on California Chrome

Michael’s obsessed with the Triple Crown that California Chrome might get it. It hasn’t been done in 36 years. Michael said he expects to win if he bets. If you bet $2 you win $1, though, because everyone thinks he’ll win. Everyone’s buying tickets because they’ll be collector’s items if he wins. That’s ridiculous.
Kelly bet on a horse race when she went to the Kentucky Derby. She was on the soap opera at the time and played an alcoholic. She bet on a horse named for gin because that’s what her character would want. The show gave them spending money while they were there. She won at 40 to 1 odds. Michael said that she wins every sports bet. Kelly called it dumb luck. She didn’t know anything. She just did it and won.
Kelly & Michael: Stanley Cup Bet
Kelly wins all sports bets, so Michael wanted to ease up on the hockey bet. Kelly wanted to bet something fun like putting Art and Gelman in a Jello fight. They wanted to do tag teams. Art was obviously the weak link. It would be Kelly and Gelman versus Michael and Art.
Kelly & Michael: 91-Year-Old Marathon Runner
Michael wanted to say this yesterday. There’s a 91-year-old runner who finished a marathon in San Diego. It set a record for the US single age group record. She finished in seven hours, seven minutes and 42 seconds. That’s so impressive. Her name’s Harriet Thompson. It’s really inspiring. It’s a 16 minute, 20 second mile. That’s how long it would take Kelly to run the marathon. Also, she was wearing lipstick, which Kelly liked.
