David Letterman: Intern Todd
Letterman brought his intern Todd out. He was just in Indianapolis for the Indianapolis 500 and was at Madison Square Garden for a recent hockey game. Letterman feels so bad for the New York Rangers. It’s always so close. The last time Todd was at the Garden was for a wrestling event called Monday Night Raw a couple of years ago. He’s been an intern since 2009. The audience found that so funny. Letterman said that he’s accumulated a lot of college credit and that people should talk to him if they’re interested in learning what it’s like to be an intern. Todd loves it there. Letterman though it was hilarious.
Late Show: Intern Todd at the Hockey Game
They talked about the mood at the hockey game. It was excited, but quickly changed. Letterman had some footage of Todd at the game. He got fans chanting, but then made them do it with mouth guards. Then he had other fans chant, “Let’s go blue shirts. You are the best. Slap the puck into the net and beat the Kings.”
He asked one fan who his favorite Canadians who aren’t hockey players are. He said Howie Mandel. He asked someone who his favorite Ranger is and he said Mike Richter. Todd’s was Ranger Smith the cartoon. Then he went to spend some of Letterman’s money in the gift shop. He offered some food to some fans and had them use it as a puck. One guy grabbed it and ate it.
Then he messed around some more. He shared a shirt with some guy. “They waffle fried my chicken tenders! Do you believe in miracles?” he said at one point. It was great. Then he drank from the Zamboni. He got fans to put a hockey puck in their mouths for $20. One guy could do it. He put the money in his mouth. Letterman said you can get more information about the internship program from Todd.
