Katie Couric: Kelly Rowland was in Abusive Relationship
Katie Couric is inviting Kelly Rowland on the show June 26 to talk about her love life and her sisterhood with Beyonce but she is also talking about the abusive relationship she was in. In her new song, “Dirty Laundry,” Rowland talks about the time she was in an abusive relationship, how she was able to get out and what she has been doing to move past it.
A lot of the songs on the album are very personal.
“I think that the most beautiful part about writing about it was how cathartic it was. I got it out and I felt 100 pound lighter. I didn’t write it for anyone else. I wrote it for myself,” said Rowland of writing the song.
She said the song came write from a conversation she was having with the producer. They began talking about the relationship and eventually she felt comfortable enough to start putting the words down as lyrics to a song.
Katie Couric: Background Singers Open Up About Life on the Road
Katie Couric is also talking with background singers who have sang for some of the biggest names in music, like The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen and Michael Jackson, to find out what they think about living a life on the road.
They are going to break down the sacrifices and the rewards of touring with some of the biggest names in the industry and what it was like to be a part of some of the most beloved songs in history.
Would you ever spend your time on the road touring? Or what the cons outweigh the pros for you? I don’t know if I could spend that much time tour, especially if I was not even the one people are paying money to see.
